Here's the lyrics for the song Some Devil if ya want

Unread post by willave » Thu Sep 25, 2003 9:23 pm

Okay, well here is the lyrics for the song Some Devil off of the new cd. I was real unsure on a couple parts, but I did the best I could. So here they are is anyone wants them, I don't know, just tryin' to help out.

I'm tempted to believe it's the best song on the cd. It's so soft and beautiful, the lyrics (from what I could figure out) are awesome. Just Dave and his guitar, who could ask for more?

One last kiss, one only
Then I'll let you go
Hard for you I'm falling,
but you can't break my fall
I'm broken, don't break me
when I hit the ground
Some devil, some angel
has got me to the bones (unsure about this part)

Chorus:
You said "Always and forever,"
Now I will leave you, baby
You said "Always and forever,"
is such a long, lonely time

Too drunk and still drinkin'
It's just the way I feel
"It's alright," that's what you told me
'Cause what we had was so beautiful
But I feel heavy, like floating
at the bottom of the sea

Chorus

Some devil is stuck inside of me
Why can't I set it free - I would
Our wish is dead (or I wish I was dead - real unsure here)
and you're breathing
Just so that you could know
Some angel is stuck inside of me
Why can't I set you free?

Chorus

Such a long, lonely time
Stuck inside of me
Everyday should be a good day to die

I have successfully mastered the art of asking stupid questions

I could ask for more, but I won't.. my asking for more would've been that he recorded the cd at my house.. :-p

Like I said, I think it's the best song on the album. All a matter of opinion I guess, but I can't get enough of it.

yeah. just do it on a six in standard, sounds fine to me. the lyrics are the highlight of the song, though.

I really don't like Some Devil (the song) all that much. I don't care for Grey blue Eyes either. Personally my favorites are Up and Away and So Damn Lucky

The lyrics are exceptional, although i love his voice on it. I don't know why. The songs kinda like floating (at the bottom of the sea).

Last night and today i've been really diggin' Save Me, it's in my head almost constantly. I gotta figure out how to play it. Thats' a tight song!
Trey and Tim add so much depth to the guitar aspect of the songs.

Does anyone care that dave doesn't play the accompanying guitar on that? "he" is Tim.
