i feel the complete opposite. When you've heard #41 40 times it doesn't have the dame effect. I lvoed hearing the new stuff.... Except Old Dirt Hill.
Exactly. I listened to UTTAD today and I was bored by it. The new stuff was decent live, except Old Dirt Hill. I hated the new album but the band can still jam. Ive just seen them too many times I think, and I'm only at like 15-20 shows.

hm... I was just listening to UTTAD on the way home from work, and yea, the songs are old and a bit worn out, but I still love hearing some of them if the mood is right. I just hate seeing such a strong fan base lose so much feeling for a band because "they went in a new direction".

the only connection to a band is the music, if they change up what you liked, why stick with it? you can still enjoy the old stuff, but when they tour and arent playing the type of stuff you like, why waste the money. there are so many good bands out there.

I like the direction they went... Just don't really care for the band as much as I did. Imagine only listening to one band consistently for 10-11 years. It kind of gets a bit boring.

yea ik exactly what u all mean by the albums getting dull and seeing a song live so many times, but one thing great though is dmb (atleast to me) doesn't get old as fast as other bands. put it this way ill be listening to a studio album version of a song for years, but then suddenly ill for ex. i'll focus in on carter, and i hear something new, that i had never noticed at all and think "wow that was pretty kickass."

This was the first year in 7 or 8 that I didn't see dmb. I don't regret it either. It's not that I dislike them now, but with the direction they took back in 2000, I've realized I'm not amped on them either though. Not good, not bad, they just changed, and I'm not into it. I'll always throw on their cds now and then, but I think I'm kind of out of my dmb stage.
