1. That red rocks was years and years ago. The four night stand is completely different, just the same venue. And red rocks is a submecca for dmb fans, the first being the gorge.

2. Yeah his voice was lame, but they promised the gorge and there are some gems, so take it for what it's worth. they couldn't back out.

3. The gorge is about the experience, there's no guarantee the setlist will be spectacular. it's about meeting people and having an amazing weekend with great music.

4. None of that shit matters except for the setlist, and as good as you claim they are, they probably aren't strong enough to be immortalized on an official release.

5. Profit.

They wont be getting any profit, its goin to hurricane relief....listen....

I was thinking about the whole red rocks thing this year. I say fuck it. They should release a box set of Alpine 1999 - 2004 (or whatever years they've played there). Best, most consistant, and unique setlists.

It's hard to really compare all of the elite venues that DMB plays because everyone is going to have their favorite.

But Dave only has one favorite. Alpine, baby! Seriously, though, all arguements aside, it seems like a logical decision to release something from Alpine.
