DMB bio books

hey all i'd like to buy a book on dmb's biography, i've found two but they both get some crappy reviews...

does anyone have one of these? which one is more detailed, i'm not interested in track lists and such, just the story of their lives.

Step Into The Light is an awesome book, I couldn't put it down.

I got Step into the light & Music for the People.

They are old books though.

music for the people has an updated 2004 version out, step into the light was updated back in 2001 i think. which do you feel is better?

i have the 2004 edition of music for the peole. i think the last chapter is on Busted Stuff and Some Devil. I dont have Step into the light so i cant say which is better

Step Into the Light isn't as bad as some make it out to be, I like it and refer to it from time to time as a sort of bible. I look to it for inspiration.

Step Into the Light is written by a man who never really interacted with DMB.

It starts and supports such unfounded rumors as:
Pantala Naga Pampa = "Welcome to our home."
and LeRoi wears sunglasses because he has terrifying stage-fright.

PNP means "I have a python in my pants."
Roi wears glasses because he plays bright shiny instruments that bounce blinding light into his eyes.

Decent book, but much of it is false. :thumbsdown:
(I'm surprised this book doesn't start off by saying "Dave is gay and has AIDS." :roll:)
