Theres no limiting to where you get ur inspirations or w/e i get everything everywhere, maybe some people think about the title of the song after its written which is ok, i do too, but i would just like to add that sometimes if you choose to pick a title first it could help , so lets say ill pick a dave song with a noun for a title like "Captain". who in hell knows what dave thought about writing this song or where it came from, but songwriting is about learning that is why dave is an amazing songwriter, he keeps u listening and interested ,so titles can help to motivate you on what your writing about, and ask questions, about the title, i'll use Captain again, by basicly just saying "what about the Captian? Who is he? -remember the chorus " I [/u] am the captian. Of what? "Of This Ship." And it its great cuz each section leads you into the next, but it is never too obvious. But also as I said I don't know how dave writes each and every song, but I feel that DMB has lost its songwriting (possibly)partiall because they lost there depth which can be a good word to sum up this band, and lack of interest in the true meanin. imo its quite ridiculous to change that dramaticaly,
