relationships and your sisters murder are 2 totally different things. To write you must be inspired. Dave didnt write Kind Intentions one day in the bath, he wrote it about his sister. He obviously saw the situation and tried to help, but as the song states "Drive way back, drive back to me now". Most women in abusive relationships stay with the abuser. The difference with KI and halloween is, halloween is a love lost; KI is about his sisters situation in love. In the end, his sister was murdered by her abuser and all Dave did was write a song about it. I bet that is very chilling for him; he will never play this song again because its proof that he saw what was going on and was helpless to change it. The pen is mightier than the sword, and this was his only way of dealing with the situation. No one knew she would be killed so it is no ones fault. Also, you will notice most of the teases come at the beginning of shows. I feel this is inspiration for the show to come. Also, last but not least, Halloween is cathartic. Catharsis is a way of dealing with repressed emotions. Im sure everytime he sings this song, all the yelling, evil sounding, raspy voice, high energy, he feels much better (catharsis). But the same could never come from singing a song about your murdered sister.

actually forgottenthings cartharsis is defined as an emotional cleansing of the soul. so KI would fall into that, so would halloween. KI would because this was obviously something troubling to him that he had to get out to show how damaging relationships sometimes can be.

So, why would you go to a show and shout it out like some drunk frat boy???

I've heard Dave tell dudes to "Shut Up," Calm down" and "Why don't you tell your mother?" during shows for yelling "Play Angel from Montgomery, " and "TWOOOOOOO STEEEEEEEPPPPPPP!!!" I never listen to those shows because some asshole thinks he's got this personal relationship with Dave and Tim and can just request whatever he feels like. It's not gonna help. They don't do requests.

You must feel very deeply about this song. Great. You like it. No problems here. Enjoy it. But please, for the sake of everyone else in attendence and every tape that will circulate; do not yell at D&T shows.
Take your own advice.

:D It's only Dave anyway.
joe.

He also told somebody "Bite my dick mother fucker" after some scrotum told him some assholish thing.

Another time, some guy called Tim Reynolds "Dave's bitch". So Tim went to the mic and said "dont make me kick your ass boy"

   Good stuff.

speaking of forgotten songs, has anyone heard 'Hold me up' or 'Heathcliff's' and if anyone has any versions of either. 'Hold me up' is actually a pretty good song. The guitar kind of reminds me of LIOG. I've never heard Heathcliff's though :(

Wait, I thought Anne and her husband were both murdered by revolutionaries or something. I don't remember exactly but, I thought they were both killed by a third party. Correct me if I'm wrong here.

*edit: NM. It appears to have been a murder-suicide. Sad.

Definitely is Hold Me Down.

Uses the same chords as the LIOG Jam, that's why they sound so alike.

Heathcliff's is a nice little song too.

I love the dumb bitch that yelled "Satellite" towards teh end of the 2nd set after Dave had played it much earlier. He was very polite.

I wish I knew her so ever time that came on I could turn to her and say, "Thanks for ruining that moment" over and over and over again.

You guys are being pretty harsh on people who request a song. Does it honestly annoy you so much that it ruins the concert?
