the only thing I agree with is that Mother Father is pretty bad. I don't despise the Lovely Ladies but I agree that they aren't necessary. neither is Tim Reynolds or Butch Taylor but that's beside the point. hmmm. cry freedom and proudest monkey are farrrrrrrrrrrrrrrr from lame. Pig doesn't fuckin' suck, that's for sure. P4WYG and Let You Down are great songs. hmmmm about Everyday, nobody thinks its special unless you think of it as pretty damn impressive to produce and album with brand new songs in like 10 days. I want to know what you mean by lame songs.

sigh... when i bought everyday, mother father was the only song i REALLY liked besides I Did It (which i had heard like 120398120381023 times before i bought it).

i also am truely fond of deed is done.. worst song is get in line. YUCK

i guess i should try to elaborate my points a bit more:
i am going to put on each song as i type my opinion, and i must emphasize opinion, cuz we all like different types of songs,
Deed is done---i wouldnt have listed thoughts on this one if it hadnt been previously referred too, but, truly, how many times do you have the craving for this song, its not like its horrible, just nothing special
Pay for what you get--i am just not into this part of daves style, the opposite of up-beat i should say, meaningful lyrics,just never got into it
Let you down-same feelings as pay for what you get, decent lyrics, meaningful, just not the type of dave i care for
ill back you up isnt bad- i will just say again, that i am not too into this type of tune, moves too slow for me
mother father---very meaningful lyrics, but, the music is not appealing to my ears
sleep to dream her---i can admit i am kind of a hypocrit on this one, i listened to this a few times thinking about a woman i was having to probs with, and i liked it, but, my opinion changed, good lyrics, but, the music just doesnt catch me unless i am extremely depressed and needing the lyrics
lovely ladies--this one i really have trouble with, there is no need for them, true, there is no need for butch taylor or timmy, but, dave and tim shows have a legendary rep, and dave and the lovely ladies wont be comin out with a solo album anytime soon(least i hope not), butch taylor also mixes in some nice shit, like in too much
christmas song---im not anti-religious, just dont like the song, way to low key for me, and i always kind of frowned when it came on after all the other good songs on that album
cry freedom---very good lyrics for the situation in south africa, but, the music just doesnt flow with my taste
proudest monkey---not as bad as some i listed above, but, the song is lame i think(by lame i mean, not too creative, and not too meaningful)
pig--the lyrics are good, and, the "come sister" part is good, but, its kind of too happy dealing with the intro and verse, like jack johnsons bubbletoes, may not be bad tunes, just a little to "Come On" to me
everyday--the lovely ladies signature tune, too repetetive, i like the guitar at times, but, the song is a little to over and over for me
these are my thoughts, i totally understand disagreements, just trying to get my thoughts out and generate some discussion on the boards, cuz, the worst dave song discussion is a very interesting topic

that's better Lordmelt. I can see now you're not as fond as me of dave's quieter more sombre tunes which I really like. do you like Grace is Gone? one his best in my opinion. its pretty lively full band I must say though. how about Loving Wings and Gravedigger? just curious. I actually agree with you more now about Deed is Done. I never crave to hear this one. nor do I crave to hear Mother Father, Dreams of our fathers, Sleep to Dream Her. the other Everyday tunes I like to throw on from time to time.

hmmmmmm. what else...............I love listening to Proudest Monkey on Crash, the drums and just everthing is great. Crash is my favorite DMB album.

never got into loving wings, i love grace is gone,(great lyrical for that situation we all get into with women from time to time), gravediggers pretty tight, the sound on crash for proudest monkey is excellent, im just not into the song all that much, lyrical wise, and, a little too slow for me, although, the band does have some neat shit going on, and, it seems, my like or dislike of dave songs changes from time to time

I think it is a good song but i dont get into "Let You Down" that much. That's what I like about some of you guys on this site, because you can say it's a good song but your just "not into it." People have their own opinons of course but I just hate it when people esp other teenagers since i am one, listen to about 10 seconds of a song and say " this song sux" instead of actually listening, I think you can say "I don't care for the song, but it is still good." for some songs atleast.
