right on fellas!!
This whole post started out on the wrong foot anyways. I'm just as protective as you guys over this band, and I'm a fairly new fan (3 years) and yeah, I'm in a frat, but the dave fans in the house are honestly good dudes. Personaly, I don't think there's any good reason to keep music this good to yourselves. Most of his music if made to make everyone have a good time, all the while adding a whole new dimension with his lyrics and style of play. I wouldn't expect any not to want to get drunk and have a great time at the concerts. I'm going to.

i'd like to know what people on this forum wear, you complain about collared shirts and khakis but on most days what is everyone wearing? because wearing a t-shirt and khakis really is nt much different

Those are the kinda clothes I wear too.

It not so much what you wear, but how you wear it that annoys us on the forums from what I see posted. From what I recall I wore a collared shirt and khaki shorts to my last DMB concert, but thats how I usually dress. No biggie. However, I don't pop my collar or wear shirts that are so tight I don't have circulation. I don't walk around the lawn looking for freshman high school girls who will do anything for a sip of alcohol. Its unfortunate, but alot of college guys at shows simply get trashed and make asses of themselves. These guys, usually clothed in Abercrombie and Fitch Polos with collars flaring, give the fan who is actually at the concert for the music a bad impression. This leads to the assumption that all A&F clothes wearers at DMB are assclowns fratboys, which is not entirely true. Hell, I think I'm wearing an A&F shirt in my avatar. But alas, I am no drunken assclown.

In conclusion, there appear to be more "frat-boys" at DMB shows in recent years. I truly think people would be fine with this if the fratboys had some common decency for those around them, but the majority do not, leading to hate-filled comments like the ones in this thread.

I don't really see what so terrible about collar popping. I don't like it when people have HUGE collars where you can't even see like half their head, but if you jsut have like a semi pop or something its not bad, IMO.

I hate the people that only go to party and have no interest in the music.

at my high school, guys who are somewhat into sports listen to dmb. ive noticed the kids who dont like sports dont really listen to them.
For us living any other ways was nuts. with all the goodie-goodies working shitty jobs for bum pay checks, took the subway work and worried about their bills were dead. they were suckers, they had no balls. if we wanted something we just took it, and if anybody complained twice they got hit so hard believe me they never complained again

at my school and well...everywhere else i've seen really it seems that the dave crowd has turned into frat boys. and i don't mean like your regular ok to hang out w/ frat boy, i'm talking pink shirt popped collar. when i went to the concert in charlotte, they were EVERYWHERE! i hardly saw a hippy which is what i thought was dave's fan base. i guess not anymore. i remember my first dave concert there were a lot of hippies and i smelled pot the entire time. this time it was beer and cologne.

my brother told me that it was changing a couple years ago and i didn't believe him. he told me that frat boys were getting into dmb and i dismissed it. but alas, he was right. so look around...who listens to dave in your area?
No one should be shocked by this. Dave and the band are doing promos for the NFL on CBS, they sold out right around the time they released 'everyday.'
