i love dmb with special guests like tim, butch, and bela fleck. even though tim hasnt been around or bela since the old days, and i do like butch, dont get me wrong, i'm a fan of the keys as well, but does anyone else feel that dmb should have or should just do a tour of themselves.i know they won't, because i think butch has acquired his place in the band, which is cool, but it still would be nice to hear some of the songs raw. think of how much more important dave's rythm guitar would have to be without it often getting lost in the mix of the whole band. not just because of that, but also it would be nice to see and hear just them.

well, DMB tours with Butch yeah, but that's it. they ocassionally have guests. i think taking butch out of the band wouldn't make them sound too much different. and in fact, i like him, i think he contriubtes a nice feel to some of the songs.

i know what you mean, but i think DMB is as raw now as they've alway been pretty much.

i dunno. what do you think

Even if you take Butch out, Dave's guitar is still going to "get lost in the mix of the whole band."

i cant think of a single song where you can hear butch and would rather not. for instance, warehouse - you cant really hear him in this song until the jam, when you can hear just the perfect amount. thats what i think theyve got with butch that they (and i) like: the perfect amount

i think they should get prominant artists from the state they're playing in. like in NC they could get warren haynes or doc watson or someone like that to come up and do a song or maybe two and do that for each state they play in. just a song or two ya know? that would freaking rock.
