Can someone define DMB Teeny-Boppers?

Unread post by Katelyn » Fri Jun 10, 2005 12:25 pm

I'm not really sure what everybody means by this. I only have an idea.

Are we talking about the girls in the flippy miniskirts and high heels that scream "Play Crash!"?

I would say younger fans that fall into a few categories:
1. Recent fans that like DMB because of songs from Everyday or Stand Up
2. Fans that like DMB because of pop songs(WAYG, Crash, Ants, WWYS, etc.)
3. Girls that scream uncontrollably like "dave your so hot!" etc. Similar to young girls on TRL

All right.

That's what I thought. Yeah, those chicks really get on my nerves. I don't mind people singing/cheering/dancing (I do those things), but the girls who scream constantly and only know his popular songs get on my nerves. And their fashion taste is horrible, especially when they don't NEED to wear short skirts... you know what I mean?

The friends I went with this year couldn't understand my excitement for Two Step or The Stone. Or Watchtower. And they kept making fun of me for knowing every word.

tell your friends to diaf.

anyone that sings all of the lyrics to crash & WAYG and screams like a fucking banshee before and after both is a teenie bopper.

if anyone says, "ive never seen that keyboard guy in their videos"

if you draw on your moms minivan in white shoe polish, "I love you dave"

if you complain that songs like two step, LIOG, crush, etc... take way tioo long live

yes, you are a fucking teenie bopper.

Well, thankfully, they are getting into his "un-popular" stuff because of me and the concert. So it's ok. They don't have to DIAF.

The example of songs taking too long... :D

BTW, these younger fans are just having their version of a good time but they've turned me off to going to see DMB live along with the suckiness of Stand Up.

I agree with you on the teens, but the Stand Up tracks are pretty kickin live. Bit Torrent a show or two if you can and see for yourself.

Touche'.

The songs I've heard live, i.e. the 6-1-05 show which I did pick up through bit torrent is pretty damn good. Especially the Two Step 30 min. version!

DMB is a live band, plain and simple. You never get the same feeling in recording from the band, nor the energy. I still maintain however, that SU isn't my cup of tea and a let down save a few pretty good tracks.

Just my opinion, I'm not going to stop listening to DMB by any means :)

Peace,

C

Teenie Boppers were the shits standing beside me in the rain at 6-8-05. Worst time of my life, but a great show. Let me begin...

We get there early, I'm standing in the lawn wearing my Budweiser Ball cap and still wearing a bar pass on my wrist from the pregame show we attended. I'm drinking my beer minding my own business and they ask if I was 21 and would buy them beer. I told them no I wasn't 21, "can't you tell?" They bought it but insisted on finding the person that bought my beer *sigh*. Then they pulled out a bag of micro roaches and taked turned sucking on each other's soggy leftovers while the entire time a white kid with his hat sideways with em was yelling "I love you Boyd!!! Show more Boyd on the camera!! I love Boyd... Carter is my BOYYYYY!" He got a free beer as I bounce it off his forehead after I heard em say that for the 16th time.

Good times

I love when I get lumped in with "Dave Matthews Frat Boys" ... Like every guy that goes to a Dave Matthews concert is a shithead preppy frat boy from UVA.

(And I was in a fraternity so no flaming please) :)

If it makes you feel any better, I was in the pavilion for that show and had two girls with cellulite dance the most horrific movements I have ever witnessed for the whole show. If anyone here watches Seinfeld, these girls were like Elaine dancers.

I hate those people that fucking sream for every song like its the best song in the world. The ones that "love" Dave and know everything about him like he's their best friend's dador something. They are also the ones that sing at the top of their lungs right into your ear too! I had a chick behind me that was the worst singer in the world. She was so off key it wasn't funny. I wanted to turn around and punch her in the fucking face!!!!! The worst part is that she kind of knew the words to all the songs played. She'd sing like 3 off key words that she knew and then waited till she knew some more. Pissed me off so bad. The worst was when she tried to sing Out Of My Hands. I don't think I could sing that badly if I tried!!! I found it really funny when they played Hunger. She was like "This is my favorite song on the new CD (she said this for every Stand Up song). I think it's number 16." Hmm...I thought to myself. There are definitely FOURTEEN tracks on the new CD. It's amazing! I guess her CD must have bonus tracks or something!!!!! :?

Sorry for the rant, but I hate people like that!!!
