hearing them live might make the difference....i hated DMB in general when i was younger, didn't like any of their songs...then i saw my first concert in may of '99...i've been a diehard ever since...their live stuff is so much better than the studio...the studio is just a formality...they're built for touring, not studio albums (in my opinion)

Seriously.....you don't need to play an instrument to know what sounds good. If you want dmb to go make another BTCS then go become a producer and convinve them to do so. You people act as though they DON'T play as they used to! WTF is wrong with you all? If you want to hear the old songs, or something like it then go to a concert. I've heard that they have A LOT of them a year. Some people are just so stupid. if you want old dmb then go to a fucking concert. Don't act as though you will never hear old school dmb just because stand up came out.

whats wrong with being dissapointed in the new album? Just because someone doesn't like the band's new material doesn't make them stupid. Maybe you're the one who should go to a fucking concert

This is my first time posting here and i hope this isnt a stupid question. On the live in Chicago at the United Center CD they play so much to say and then go into too much. I dont know if i should call it a jam or a transition. I was wondering if anyone has a tab of dave's small guitar solo (in the middle of the jam). Im horrible at figuring out stuff like this and i know theres no offical title or name to it either. Was just curious if anyone ever tabbed it out. I just really love that jam (whatever you want to call it).

Thanks
Eric :D
you really know a lot about the band

1. couple good songs, i'm sure this one will grow on me
2. hate dave's "new" voice. the one he used in some devil. it's less passionate, it's too low, it's too soft. i think this topic has it's own thread.
3. the "everybody wake up" song whatever it's called is my new most hated song of all time. it ranks right up there w/ sleep to dream her.
4. old dirt hill or whatever it's called is an awesome song.

those are my thoughts.

come on, what, are you the only person on the entire earth that has an opinion? see, this is supposed to be a society. when people wanna discuss rationally, the do so peacefully. however, just because you don't like someones views is no reason to start throwing insults around. i learned it, and you will eventually as well, whenever you start crap like that, it makes people frown on your opion AND people who share it. it kinda stereotypes everyone. and before you come back with some witty, brand new insult like "you're stupid", maybe you should consider i'm trying to help, then consider what i've said. No need getting all worked up over someone's opinion who you've never met, probably never will, and has abolutely NO bearing on your life whatsoever. all i'm saying is...chill.

Dave's voice is so much better on Some Devil then this album, but the scratchiness of Dave's voice on this album gives it a human quality that enhances the simplicity of certain songs.

I know nobody on this site will agree with me, but I actually like Steve Harris's production. There are upsides and downsides to harris, just as there were upsides and downsides to lillywhite. But they both blow Batson out of the water.
Forget about the reasons and the treasons we are seeking
Forget about the notion that our emotions can be swept away, kept at bay
Forget about being guilty, we are innocent instead
For soon we will all find our lives swept away
