Heh my parents love a lot of the music I listen to. At least my dad does. I have yet to get my license so he drives me to concerts, and stays and ends up really enjoying them. He's taking me to DMB in September, and he's really excited about it.

My dad is into John Prine, et al folksy people. He can stand DMB, but I don't think it'd be his first choice.

I think thats just because of Boyd, whose influence on the band tends to be more country/bluegrassy. Thats why I used to dislike boyds playing on songs like tripping billies and Crush but now I think higher of it. Personally, and frankly, I royally hate all country music and wish it was wiped off the face of the earth. Most country singers cannot sing or write quality music so they write about their miserable lives. Boyd at least has that classically-trained edge that makes the band's violin aspect better.

My in-laws love DMB. They are always cranking it on their CD changer. They usually have a fridge full of good beers in the basement too so it's a fun place to visit... :P

Yeah tell me about it. Don't really know if my parents really listened to any of the druggie bands or not. My mom now does listen to Journey/Kiss/Queen, so i figure she must've listened to em back then

I just hate the damned beach boys. When I hear the bloody guitar intro the "daddy takes the t-bird away" song, I want to pull an "office space" on the radio.

I'm in a band with my dad and its wonderful having a musical connection with a member of the family
Laughter come on downtown window
And we see faces walking back
Tonight everybody gonna remember
Remember in time...
