If DMB didn't exist Radiohead would be my favorite band. Some of you may have heard me rant about how great they are, so I apologize. That's cool what he said about them. I think Dave's not being fair to himself by comparing his songwriting to Yorke's. They're pretty different in terms of what they both sing about. Thanks for the article dude.

A good one to start out with is OK Computer...that's the most accesable, yet artsy album of theirs. If you went and bought Kid A or Amnesiac right off the bat, then you'd probably hate it. Another suggestion is The Bends. That's the most straight-forward rock album of their's, but it's quite good. Still, I'd suggest OK Computer.jsgksu wrote:Allright, Ill bite. EDIT: Much like Dark Side of the Moon, it's best if you listen to OK Computer straight through. The album as a whole is stronger than any one song. Just thought I'd add that.

i agree completely OK computer is the best one to listen to first, and you have to listen to it all of the way through. Personally, I think Kid A is their best album (at the moment, its hard to pinpoint, its like DMB, it changes all of the time)whip3512 wrote:A good one to start out with is OK Computer...that's the most accesable, yet artsy album of theirs. I think Thom is a better lyricist, personally; Dave seems to stick the same material over and over, which while enjoyable isn't exactly genius.
Aside from Radiohead's first album, I agree with everything Dave said. DMB is really, really, REALLY good, but Radiohead is genius.
I like the Salieri note in there, haha.

Stay with me, safe and ignorant.
As I said earlier, I am not familiar with Radiohead's music, but I did find this quote about their live shows from the always outspoken and humorous (also very self-centered) Noel Gallagher of Oasis fairly amusing:
"At the end of the day, you can go to a Radiohead show and stroke your fucking beard and watch the fucking cunt complaining, or you can come see us, put your arm around your best mate, and have it."
-Noel Gallagher - Oasis
I love Oasis

Radiohead is an interesting band... I could blast Idioteque all day, but I'm not sure if I'd pay a dime to see them live. I saw a video of them playing Idioteque on SNL and it was a joke. I laughed pretty damn hard.
I also saw them play another thing live on TV. I can't remember the song, but it sucked so bad. There were about five guys standing there with tubas wigging out and not playing anything. They must have played only three notes the entire song.
