Personally I just started listening to DMB a little over a year ago, but I've become completely obsessed. I learn all the songs, get all the cd's, the whole bit. I would have killed to see them from 93' to about 96' because they were so good then (not saying they aren't now) and the setlists were amazing. I think the band might have realized that the past couple of tours they have let people down what with all the everyday and busted stuff material, and that might be why they've come out so strong on this tour. I don't know. Nobody really does, but we can all speculate.

note: Dave likes the everyday stuff, and the lovely ladies, so god knows what direction we're going in :D

With the incoming amont of new material, a lot of the older loved material has been pushed back, which is understandable, the band has become tired of it. Sure, they haven't released a perfectly amazing record since BTCS, and its tough to deal with sometimes. I read on dmbalmanac that during the 97 summer tour they played ants, billies, 41, SMTS, two step, and too much every single show.

It's still better than an I did It, Space Between encore

that is my motto keep it in mind at all times.

I'm 23, so no you're not too old..
I've been listening to DMB since UTTAD, which is in my opinion an album that cannot be beaten. They consistantly brought out killa albums over the years, I started to lose hope when I heard Everyday but BS has definately surprised me.
To me it's one of those albums that I listened to briefly and got bored of it quickly, then I listened to it again and it just sounded better and better.
Songs like YNK, Grey street, Raven are really growing on me.
I've got REALLY high hopes for some devil, if they're anything like Stay or leave then ill be happy camper...

But yeah I hear what you're saying, in my opinion, UTTAD has been their best album..

i agree that under the table was one of their best albums.....im just not impressed with everything after before these crowded streets, although i think grey street is an awesome tune....but anyways it seems like theyve lost the mellow sax and the sawing violin jams and tried to get more an electric sound, which maybe they are trying to appeal to a brouder audience but i just wish they would go back to the percussive acoustic we all fell in love with back in the day, i mean i have a recording i found that took me like 3 years to get of the absolute first song they ever played together in the basement of daves house in VA, and i was just blown away (the song is dancing nancies and its totally amazing, very bad sound quality but hey its a tape....ill try to get it on here becaue everyone needs to hear it). im sure theyll come up with something new to suprise everyone....i hope

i love the old school dave too, but remember that no band will stay exactly the same forever. i personally think btcs was their peak album, but you have to love newer songs like ynk, stay or leave, etc. the music's gonna change, so you can't expect them to crank out albums like uttad all the time.

eh, not really a bandwagon, but you just have to appreciate the evolving styles for what they are. oh, and welcome to the boards, by the way!
