Bringh back the chet!
I honestly think the taylor is lacking with dave. It sounds kinda hollow (not as in hollow instrument) doesnt sound as full as the chet did. and the chet just cut through the band nicely, the taylor does somewhat, but is usually lost in the bass and percussion.
BRING BACK THE CHET.
BRING BACK THE CHET.

let's wait and see if the picture in the album preview vid is true, and Dave might be playing a solid body acoustic Godin. Let's see if it makes the line up onstage. His Taylor, his 914, I have never liked it that much. The Martin doesn't cut through as much, but solo the martin sounds the best. With the band, though, the chet sounded the best. Let's see if this Godin sounds good (if it's being used).
Yes, I am in a box

I never understood why dave switched to Taylors full band. You can't hear him. I think the Martin he used on LS sounded a lot better than the Taylors he's used live. But the Chet had the zing, you're right.

yeah the godin is what got me thinking, recording wise godins have more control on sound, and tone and what not, but live chets are better. so astetically speaking, using a chet in the studio makes no sense, using a godin in the studio is genius, so im hopin the chet will return.Ranting Thespian wrote:let's wait and see if the picture in the album preview vid is true, and Dave might be playing a solid body acoustic Godin. Agreed, the bass was really stand-out during that show.GSRLessard14 wrote:mike did you download the 1993 salem show? the bass lines from that show are crazy... lots of times the bass seems like its the lead instrument cos its the main thing you're hearing. its really jaco-esque at times. so good.i like tictacs wrote:GSRLessard14 wrote:BRING BACK THE DOLPHIN!

Well I definitely would too if I was sitting around my living room. But you can't hear the Taylor very well with the full band.gumbomadness wrote:if i was that rich.. i would MUCH rather play a blingin taylor than a chet.
