leroi LOVES wizard of oz. He plays bits on Live at Red Rocks.. and on the More Busted Stuff DVD in his solo on bartender...
hes a strange fella. But very cool.
He did LOTS of jazz back in the day and stopped for DMB and now brings funk and jazz and rock together for his cool sound.
On dmband.com click LEROI in the store and buy Code Magenta.. i dunno what it is.. but leroi is in it. 8) also search leroi moore on amazon.com he did some work with... someone else.

He puts a lot of Coltrane lines into his solos, so I think its safe to say that's one of his big influences. Whoever influenced him, his style is fuckin great.

LeRoi was playing jazz before he joined DMB.

Correct me if I'm wrong, but weren't most of them influenced by jazz/blues? Well, excluding Boyd. Boyd was classically trained I believe.

Well Carter was influenced by many areas i believe. Jazz/blues but also fusion (his former band, the secrets), latin, marching band i would even say and rock
