Actually its: I'm mixing up a bunch of magic stuff, A magic mushroom cloud of care, A potion that will rock the boat will rock, Make a bomb of love and blow it up.
May not be Daves best work but I still dont mind listening to it every once and a while. Id be hard pressed to really find a song I actually didnt like. I just have to be in the right mood for certain ones and it just turns out that Im not in the mood for them very often.

Agreed. Although that lyric is a little off.

I used to hate many of the songs on EveryDay, but as I play them on my electric, I like them more. The only DMB song I don't particularly care for is Halloween. I think the song is Dave's excuse to make wierd growly noises and say cuss words. I understand how pissed he was when that Julia Grey babe turned down his marraige puposal 3 times, but I still dislike the song. A better growly song is Rhyme and Reason or Watchtower.

In Addition, I absolutely hate the UTTAD verison of warehouse. I'm not one to criticise carter's drumming, because it is usually meticulous, but this one crosses the line. The chorus sounds like the inside of santa's toy shop, if you know what I mean. The song is sopposed to be mysterious, poignant, and contemplative, like it is on L@LC, but on UTTAD it sounds goofy, cheesy, and amature.
The song is bad for the same reason The studio versions of Two Step, Cry Freedom, and Proudest Monkey are bad. There's too much junk in the background, like the barry sax and background vocals, electric guitar, and circus slidewhistles on those three songs repectively. The live versions of them songs on L@LC and Red Rocks are excellent, because it is just the quintet or Dave and Tim playing their songs without all the superfluous bull.

Love Halloween. It's great. And I don't think Dave needs an excuse to make weird growly noises and cuss - he does it quite often.

i think i did it is a great song. especially with the video, because its just pure rediculous nonsense,,,hahaha  at the least its definitely one of the better songs off of Everyday. i know all of you really hard core people are supposed to hate Everyday, i know the whole story. carter doesn't like the album too much either, says the rest of the band's talent was fuzzed out because of power chords and the like. (check out rollingstone.com for some great articles, interesting stuff.) Carter also said that its a great album for two people. dave matthews and glen ballard.

still, while its not my favorite album, i like most of it.

I think being rejected to marry the love of your life three times is more than enough of an escuse to use the kick ass skills of carter beauford dave, and the rest of the band to write a crazy kickin rad song. Droppin a few f bombs never killed anyone either.

I guess you're right. Just for the hell of it, I listened to Halloween for the first time on BTCS today and it isn't so bad. It's certainly much better than the Recently or L@LC versions.

I'd have to agree. Ever since I bought Busted Stuff I couldn't stand Bartender, although it's one of Dave's favorite songs. To me it just seems to drag, and is unnecissarily long.
