Problems with GGP Show

Unread post by Mikeyt21 » Mon Sep 13, 2004 12:55 am

1. Dave broke the string on his guitar 3 times (from my count), once during Stay, and once during Too Much and one more time I forget when
2. Santana was Awesome, but his playing seemed to be a little sloppier today from usual, also he didn't flow with the band well. Also there was too much empty time during the solos. It wasn't organized as well as Warren Hayes when he Played @ CP. Sugar Will with Santana wasn't done very well in my opinion.
3. I'm sorry I love the Stone, but I think it should've been left out. The crowd wasn't really feeling it. They should've played either Grey Street or Ants Marching Instead there.
4. DAVE NEVER CHANGED GUITARS!! HE USED HIS 914ce TAYLOR THE ENTIRE SHOW.
THERE WAS NO APPEARENCE OF THE 12 STRING or BARITONE DURING THE SHOW! I'm sorry, but I had to get that out of my system, I saw the guitar techs bring in the 12 string and the baritone before they got on stage, but Dave never used them.

But, Highlights Include:

1. Nice new variation of #41
2. Boyds Lie in our Graves Solo was awesome
3. Dave did a Nice Guitar Solo and Scat in Jimi Thing
4. All along the Watchtower was INSANELY GOOD, except that Butch and Leroi never did a Solo :(
5. Santana played a cool solo for warehouse.

all along the watchtower was pretty sick.....and who better to play the solo than santana..... i'm glad he played a lot of the older material....the last time i saw him play a couple of years ago at shoreline...he only played all his new material and left out a lot of the classic dave songs...
