They were working on this song with Santana (john the revelator and love of my life, but chose love of my life over john the revelator). Now, while doing this, Santana started singing lines from the old blues song John the Revelator by Blind Eye Willie Johnson. The two songs are comletely utterly different. None of it is the same except for that one line: who's that writing, john the revelator. It's not even sung the same in Willie's song. It's not too hard to find. Mine was accidentaly deleted when I switched Windows versions. So Santana was singing it, and Dave stops and says that sounds good, so they stuck it in. When dmb tried the song and took out the john line, they just kept the initials, and it is now JTR.

Oh, and Machead. Well, the ONLY mention of it EVER was from Lillywhite, posting something talking about the sessions, and he said Dave wrote one of his best tunes that Steve thought it sounded like McCartny and Radiohead. Now the Mac thing, Paul is sometimes referd to as that . . . some nickname, whatever. So he named it Machead. Then the tracklist was posted. There has never been a mention of it ever since. And unless someone goes up to Dave and asks about the wereabouts of the song, we won't know what if it has shown up under a different name (and there is a chance it is on Some Devil).
Also, the only reason why Reconcile/#58 was called that is because it was the first new song after the BTCS sessions. I also know that is false, and it was actualy somewhat of a DDTW opener that never really worked on (hence why a lot of times Reconcile and early Bartenders segued into DDTW)
Like I said, though, with all the songs that didn't fit well with the band on Some Devil, this could be one. Other support for this theory is that old songs like Little Thing and the Hold Me Down part in Ciggaret Lit, suggest a chance that this old shevled song might have been another song that didn't work out with the band. Then it was dug up for Some Devil. Man, if I ever meet Dave, this will be the one question I will ask, "what happened to Machead?"

I remember seeing an old hand written song list from songs from the BTCS sessions. On it were written things like "Funk In Five", which was Rapunzel, and "Stefan's 7", which was Dreaming Tree. Also on that list was MacHead I believe. Anyone have a jpg of that list?

Its more likely that neither of them were machead and they were just added on later.
