My last concert some dude at the end of my row threw a knife at Dave. Anyone ever head of that? :roll:

Um, the guy on the subway probably just did it as a joke/dare with his friends. Either that or it was just a drunken way to entertain himself. Maybe he was a legitimate molestor, but it doesn't really sound like it. Either way, it shouldn't make you be fearful of strangers to be involved in one minor incident.

You really shouldn't carry a knife. Not even for the fact that you can lose control of yourself, either. Once you pull a knife, all bets are off. There are a lot of people out there who will just as easily pull a knife/gun on you since you're threatening their life. Either that or they will call over 10 of their buddies to beat you to the brink of death. Don't believe me? Wait until you're old enough to go to a packed college bar and watch how many drunken fights break out. You'd be stupid to weild a weapon in that situation.

Instead, you should seriously hit the weights and go to a gym. Also, join as many physical contact sports as possible, such as wrestling, football, basketball, and the like. It helps build confidence and if you do get into a fight, strength helps a lot. Not only that, it'll help you shed the fact that girls think you're the "sweetest guy they know." When they hold that mentallity toward you, it doesn't help you get laid, trust me. Not to say that you shouldn't be nice, but you just don't want to be "sweet" either, heh.

Mine isnt from a Dave concert but me and my friend were waitin in line at a Metallica concert and this bum comes up and starts talking to people. Next thing I see is the bum with his pants down holding some beer chasing after some guy in line, trying to kiss him.

well, one, i know what u mean willin about not getting laid, but actually im the one whos like all over the place crazy and its fun and girls like it casue im nice and sweet, and can be myself, and play guitar, and have confidence, so im in with that. not that i dont agree, its just i come from a different angle then just nice and sweet.

and as for the knives, filmdudes was right, we all carry knives in the south

On a serious note, this is no joke. I was at a bar last night hanging out in the outdoor section. All of a sudden people started running over to one of the side fences. Well, I looked over the fence and there was a kid laying with a pool of blood around his head. He was bleeding from everywhere on his head and coughing up blood. It was disgusting. Well, the cops arrive and start talking to the idiot who hit the other kid with a bottle because the bouncers managed to grab him and get him in cuffs. They search him and guess what he had on him? About a 4 inch blade swiss army knife in his back pocket. Then the cops started railing this kid with questions like "Why the hell do you have a knife?", and "Did you slash him(the kid laying with a pool of blood around his head)?". Well, Mr. jackass started talking shit, saying stuff like "that kid won't fuck with me now!" The cops quickly proceeded to send Mr. Jackass to jail where I hope he spends a long fucking time for being an idiot.

Anyway, this is completely true and I thought it was ironic that it happened 5 feet in front of me last night after I had read this thread.

Moral of the story: Don't carry weapons, they only get you into more trouble. Instead, learn to use your body as a weapon, and if you *have* to fight someone, then do it with your hands, not some very lethal weapons that will likely get you screwed over if you use them. There's going to be very few circumstances where you could get away with using a knife and not get either killed or be held strictly liable for killing someone else, even if it is inadvertant.

im not callin us rednecks, but its true, allot of people carry knifes in the south, not for safety just cause its usefull.
