Say Goodbye

Unread post by coyoteguy » Wed Aug 18, 2004 10:40 am

Just wanted to know what you guys think of this song and especially the lyrics. My girlfriend and I always get in a debate about this song. I personally love the song and the lyrics.

Very good song, guitar and lyrics wise, I think.

I like the tune but I can see how women might not like it. For some reason women don't like 1 night stands. If they don't listen too hard to the lyrics most women like it. It was originally named "quick lay and say goodbye," but Dave being the genius he is decided to change it to a more subtle title.

I personally interpret this as two very good (or even best) friends that perhaps have additional feelings beside their friendship, and for whatever reason they have never been able to pursue that desire of intimacy. So, one night they mutually decide to fuck with no strings attached to kinda "get it out of their system". So I personally don't think that anybody should take offense to this "one night stand", because in my mind, it was a mutual decision and both parties new the deal going into it. So that's my take, but I'm still drunk from last night so what do I know...

Dave said (after playing the song) that it's not a good idea.
Yes, I am in a box

Great song, unfortunately it has an all too personal meaning to me.
