Are these the correct "Granny" lyrics from L@LC?

Unread post by billywestom » Sat Apr 12, 2003 3:59 pm

I wrote these by ear, please tell me if you think these are right, or if you have any corrections let me know. Dave is very hard to understand at parts, as i'm sure you know. (These are from Live at Luther College).

Granny

Hello how are you doing today?
I hope I find you feeling healthy.
I’m so glad our paths crossed this time today.
On our way into the night.

I say it’s love that’s hiding deep, deep down inside us all.
So maybe we should let it up above from deep inside.
Love is not that tough if you come admit it, too, well
Maybe your heart’s into a thousand pieces dies, stop.

Only the old and wise with clouded eyes
You can’t see what I can ‘cause I
Blindly throw my faith to the face
Of the next pretty girl to come my way.

Here we are all of us stand around
Leaning heavy on each other.
Always wondering what it is lies behind?
Worried eyes of one another.

I believe it’s love that’s hiding there in the shadows, in the darkness.
Maybe we’ll shed a little light and it will shine.
Well love, when I approach, my tears they fall like rain, ‘cause you know
Maybe your heart’s into a thousand pieces dies, stop.

Only the old and wise with clouded eyes
You can’t see what I can ‘cause I
Blindly throw my faith to the face
Of the next good thing to come my way.

I say it’s love, so share it up, share it fare but share it level.
Maybe a thing’s a better world, it could be lower.
But love, when I approach, the tears they fall like rain, you tell me
Maybe your heart’s into a thousand pieces dies, stop.

Only old and wise with clouded eyes
You can’t see what I can; I
Blindly throw my faith to the face
Of the next good thing to come my way.
I can't believe that we would lie in our graves wondering if we had spent our living days well, and I can't believe that we would lie in our graves dreaming of things that we might have been...

it looks good to me...most of what i hear though is "i say it's LOVE so shaddup, share it fair and eat a weasel"....so anything would really work.

it is funny though, how we all become good at deciphering his lyrics, because my roommate is not a dmb fan, and he can never make out a word dave says...even new songs, i can usually get most of it.
"Forget about what you are escaping from," he said, quoting an old maxim of Kornblum's. "Reserve your anxiety for what you are escaping to."

Hello, how are you doing today?
I hope I find you feeling healthy
I'm so glad our paths crossed this time today
On our way into the night

I say it's love, it's hiding deep, deep down inside us all
So maybe, we'll shed a little love from deep inside
Love, it's not so tough if you come admit it too
Well, baby, you're hearts into a thousand pieces dashed

Stop only the old and wise, with clouded eyes
You can't see what I can
'Cause I blindly throw my faith to the face
Of the next pretty girl that comes my way

Here we are all of us stand around
We're leaning heavy on each other
Always wondering what is it lies behind
The worried eyes of the woman that I love

I believe it's love, it's hiding there in the shadows, in the darkness
Maybe we'll shed a little light and it will shine
So love, when I approach my tears they fall like rain
'Cause you know maybe, my heart into a thousand pieces dashed

Stop only old and wise, with clouded eyes
You can't see what I can
'Cause I blindly throw my faith to the face
Of the next good thing that comes my way

I say it's love, so share it out, share it fair, but share it now though
Maybe the things a better world that could be loved (?)
But love, when I approach the tears they fall like rain
You tell me baby, your heart into a thousand pieces dashed

Stop only old and wise, with clouded eyes
You can't see what I can
I blindly throw my faith to the face
Of the next good thing that comes my way
