Just got back from the Toronto show
HOLY SHIT, WHAT A SHOW! This was my seventh time seeing the band and this was by FAR the best I have seen. The setlist was phenomenal and Dave was more interactive with the audience than I have ever seen him (probably due to the fact that the Canadian dates usually tend to be later on in the tour). The first three songs made the rest of the show a little bit anticlimatic for me because they happened to be the exact three songs I told my girlfriend (prior to the show) that I wanted to hear.
and -- oh yeah -- that silly little guy Dave gave those of us who showed up early a little treat.... He went on stage to open up Keller Williams set by teaming up to play Watchtower. It was an incredible moment. I had just paid for my hot dog and was waiting for it when I heard a roar through the (at that point) rather small crowd... Last summer, Eddie Vedder did something similar at the Pearl Jam concert, coming out early to play Hide your love away, so I had an inkling that it was Dave coming on stage.... Needless to say that hot dog went unserved!!!
anyway.

I'm not a huge fan of Everyday, but this was a superb version of the song... Dave played off the audience nicely once it kicked into 36/jamming. They had a nice jam in jimi thing.. once again dave solo'ed, which was nothing special, but he started making epileptic-like movements and screeching noises which was kind of cool (at least humerous) and plugged a few songs in there (of course, one of which was the Steven Stills song... the name slips my mind right now).
I wasn't too impressed with what Stefan did before Grace is Gone... his lap steel sounded a little bit out of tune.
Crush and Bartender were both really good... the highlight, though (of course) was starting with Warehouse, Granny and Crush.. Frankly, it doens't get much better than that.
I was also really happy to hear STJL -- it was the first time I have ever seen that live -- and OSW, which has really grown on me lately (for some reason I was never too crazy about it until recently).
Anyways, overall, it was a great show by the guys.. I thought it was also Boyd's best performance (out of the shows I have seen). for once he wasn't too sloppy, and didn't really slip out of tune and/or out of key.. which was nice for a change.
