URI show
hey guys, don't get pissed at me, i'm not trying to rub in that i got to go...i just wanted to let you know what i thought of the show. First off, I didn't know tim reynolds was so short!! he must have been at least a foot shorter than dave. haha but anyway, i'm sure you all saw the setlist. This is the first acoustic show i have been to, but it seemed like he purposely picked every laid back song that he had. Even the more upbeat songs (bartender, grey street, liog, smts) he played at slower tempos than usual. Don't get me wrong, the musicality of every song was unbelievable, both in his playing and singing. Every single song was basically perfect from start to finish and there really was a ton of emotion in his performance. It's just that the whole concert had such a reserved feeling to it, i was thinking maybe because of all that's happenning with the war. Dave did make mention to it, saying he wanted to take a chance to send out prayers to all of our men and woman as well as all of the innocent who are involved. And then there were a few morons who have to yell out shit every other second (dave was even shushing them through the mic while they were playing an intro to a song), and ended up joking about how no matter how many songs people yell out, "i'm still going to play whatever the f*ck i want to play". I cannot believe how funny he is, my friend and i must have turned to each other a dozen times and just said what the hell is he babbling about, it was great. I didn't expect him to talk so much between songs and really didn't expect him to play for 3 hours and 15 minutes. So basically the concert was a highlight of my life (pretty pathetic life huh??) and I can now die a happy man
(well after the west point show) So if any of you can get tix, even at scalper prices, i would recommend it! latrrrrrrr
