Anywho, I think Angel at Folsom Field is really a cool jam. I do think the mr. bassman, etc. is a little corny, but I really must say that I don't hate the song. I used to hate the lovely ladies, but it seems that they have grown on me a little.
PS. I still think they ruined #36 on Listener Supported!

I guess I didn't like them because I wasn't used to them. I had never heard them previous to LS, and I just thought they were annoying. I think that most people didn't like them because they changed the sound of a band they've listedened to for awhile. I'll be the first one to admit I didn't like this change with bringing in the ladies, I guess it sounded too popish to me, but now realize that they aren't that bad and have really good voices.

If I remember correctly, Jason likes some songs on Everyday (So Right, Space Between, Everyday).gravedigger wrote:Wow, tico. Jason's gonna have a field day with that. I didn't realize you loved the album so much.
Tico, pretty good review. My only exception would be to move Dreams of our Fathers up to best songs...

In my opinion, the song Everyday is the most "un-everyday-like" song on the album. kindof ironic. does anyone agree though? its feels like a classic dave song to me, guitar and feel both. it has a spirited "tripping billies" vibe but also a desperate kindof vibe in the chorus like the Stone has. anyway, just some random thoughts. If I were to rate the Everyday songs from best to worst, here's how they'd go.
Everyday
Space Between
What You Are
If I Had It All
Foot To Think
I Did It
Sleep To Dream Her
Angel
So Right
Dreams of Our Fathers
Mother Father
am I missing any? there are 10 right?

Everybody always asks me how she's doing. Has she really lost her mind? I said "I couldn't tell you, I've lost mine."
