Unread post by GSR » Mon Nov 23, 2009 8:04 pm

DAVE MATTHEWS BAND EUROPE 2009 AVAILABLE FOR PRE-ORDER

Dave Matthews Band Europe 2009 includes Dave Matthews Band: Live from Lucca and Across the Pond, a box set containing 3 CDs from the July 5, 2009 show in Lucca, Italy and a DVD from the June 26, 2009 show at O2 Academy Brixton in London, England (with bonus tracks from the June 25th O2 Academy show). Also included is an exclusive C. Taylor Crothers 60-page photo book chronicling the entire Dave Matthews Band 2009 tour. Europe 2009 is an 11 3/4" square hardcover book with a foil stamped recycled board slipcase. The release is the ultimate Big Whiskey and the GrooGrux King companion and comes in a sleeve with room to hold a Big Whiskey Super Deluxe edition.

Live From Lucca - 3 CD set
Dave Matthews Band played one of the longest shows in their history on July 5, 2009 in a beautiful plaza in the heart of Lucca, Italy. In the Tuscan setting surrounded by city walls dating back to the Renaissance era, the band was inspired to deliver a performance lasting almost three hours. A welcome mix of classics on the setlist served to complement the new Big Whiskey and the GrooGrux King songs.

Across the Pond - DVD
"Dave Matthews Band: Across the Pond" is a concert film shot in the famed Brixton Academy in South London. Directed by Sam Erickson (The Road to Big Whiskey Documentary/44 Pictures) and filmed with 10 HD cameras in the vintage awe-inspiring theatre, this concert program takes you up close and personal with DMB in a setting reminiscent of the band's earlier years of club and theater touring. Mixed in pristine stereo and 5.1 surround from the original multi track recordings and presented via Dolby Digital stereo audio this film is the definitive visual record of the 2009 world tour behind Big Whiskey and the GrooGrux King.

Europe 2009 Box Set Bundles
We are also offering a couple of bundles with the Pre-Order of Europe 2009: order with a mulberry or galaxy blue shirt featuring art from the Lucca poster or with the 2010 DMB calendar at a discounted price. The Italy show looks pretty good, can't say the same about the DVD setlist.

I actually think I prefer the dvd setlist. But between the two of them, I think I'll be happy with the selection of songs from the tour.

I was supposed to go to the Italy show, but I had to stay... I wonder if I missed anything worth seeing

I broke down and bought it last week and it was well worth it. The DVD is awesome! The mix is near perfect for the CDs as well. I think the only low point is Watchtower. Maybe they were not into that night, but something was just missing from it. Aside from that, I think this is one of the best DVD/CD sets they have done. Up there with Central Park for sure!
