"The idea was to build songs out of improvised grooves"
Good job guys, the Seinfeld approach to song writing really worked out well for you last time around.

I'm okay with this as long as they got rid of the group clapping sessions.Nitro1515 wrote:"The idea was to build songs out of improvised grooves"Good job guys, the Seinfeld approach to song writing really worked out well for you last time around.

A little bird stopped by the office last night to let us in on some songs off the Dave Matthews Band’s new album “Big Whiskey and the Groogrux King,” scheduled for release on June 2nd. In what can be described as a mix between 1998’s “Before These Crowded Street’s” and Matthews’ 2003 solo effort “Some Devil,” Groogrux (named in memory of the late DMB saxophonist LeRoi Moore - one his nicknames) may very well be the biggest and fullest sound we’ve heard from the ATO co-founder, Matthews, and his band. Produced by Rob Cavallo, with special guests (among others - shhh we can’t say just yet) and now official “touring members,” via DMB's site, Tim Reynolds (guitar), Jeff Coffin (saxophone) and Rashawn Ross (trumpet), Groogrux hits and it hits HARD. The consensus at the office was pretty uniform - the best DMB we’ve heard in years.
Keep your eyes on DMB’s official site and even here as well as we’ll try to blog about our thoughts on Groogrux in the upcoming weeks before June 2nd. There are plenty of surprises to be announced from DMB’s camp including some pretty unique fan input that you’ll be wowed by.
