Rutabega and filling holes

Unread post by BeatleJWOL » Sun Apr 22, 2007 2:09 am

So, I just found this tracklisting for the Rutabega Studio sessions on Demonoid:

01 Best Of What's Around
02 Recently
03 Cry Freedom
04 Tripping Billies
05 Song that Jane Likes
06 I'll Back You Up
07 What Would You Say
08 After Her
09 Lover Lay Down
10 One Sweet World
11 Typical Situation
12 Dancing Nancies

After hitting the research on dreamingtree, I did of course discover that a) Lover Lay Down should actually be called All The Same at this point, b) tracks 1-11 are from the 4th and 6th of January 1991, not the fifth of January 1993; also 3) Dancing Nancies is purely filler, from the so-called Quad tape (and please, correct me if any of this information is known to be wrong).

On the 4th, Dave supposedly also recorded a solo version of Warehouse, then called Anytime We Can Stop (apologies if it sounds like I'm telling everybody things they already know, I'm just making sure I have everything correct).

So my question is this: does anybody have Anytime We Can Stop, OR the other solo Dave tracks from the Quad Studios sessions, listed as Jimi Thing, Minarets and Ants Marching, recorded on December 1st.

I'd love to pass these tracks along to a couple friends, but I don't feel right doing so in the state they're in (meaning I'd love to have all the solo dave, collected in one place, if it's available); I'm also not interested in the live tracks used as filler for these recordings.

Any help would be appreciated.

I think I do, but I can't get them to you, but if I do then someone on here does since I most likely got the tracks from here.

basically my explanation is that I have rutabega sessions on my ipod, don't know what tracks i do and don't have but either way, I have no way of getting them onto my computer from it.

Recently should be called "The Paul Simon Song" on there at this point from what I've seen/heard. It didn't become "Recently" until about 5-6 months later I don't think.

hi and hello and stuff, the shit your asking about is all really early stuff that has been mislabeled and confused and thrown together and called demos and house recordings and its all really not figured out. i have been collecting everything i can find and when it comes to the early, i.e. 89'-90-91 era i've found that there are recordings but they are all mixed together and any sort of exact date is totally up in the air.
dave used to come by here i can't remember his "many" names but you should ask him next time he's online. he'll for sure answer all your questions

yeah so sorry for the bullshit there but i'll look and see what i have and i'll try and post what i think your talking about. there are alot of mislabled "demos" and i know they aren't all from the same recordings but i'll see what i have.

say again what your looking for?

weren't they supposedly called "Carter's Basement Tapes" or some shit? 1991? I know I have those but the dates got hacked off over the years so basically all I have left is the year with no month or day.
