Is my Hershey ticket real or fake? Can someone help?

Unread post by sullivandf » Thu Jul 23, 2009 11:55 am

Hey gang, I haven't posted here in a long time but figured, if anyone could help me, it would be this group.

I bought a ticket for Friday night's show on craigslist and it showed up in the mail today. It's not what I was expecting. It doesn't have a barcode anywhere on it and the only printed logo on the ticket says "Giant Center." (It does say "Hersheypark Stadium" in the description.)

I'm probably being paranoid but it looks like something that could have been counterfeited. I can scan it later when I'm back at work if that would help.

Anyone have a ticket for tomorrow night that looks like mine? Can you describe it?

Thanks in advance.

Did you try to talk to the guy you bought it from about your concerns?

I don't understand, don't all tickets need a bar code?

Is it a printout or a for real ticket?

I've e-mailed him and I'm waiting for his response. I have his phone # too if I don't hear back.

It looks like a real ticket but with no bar code and no other anti-counterfeit measure that I can see.

Well, I called the Giant Center box office (not sure why I didn't think of that earlier) and they said that it sounds like I have a real ticket. She described the tickets and it matches what it have. No bar codes for some reason.

Whew!

How the hell do they scan them. Seems like without a barcode, you could go in and pass it through the fence to someone else and just keep doing it.

They probably tear the stub off. Old school.
