Saw 'em in Irvine Last Night - Amazing!
Went to the show in Irvine last night. Amazing!!! Robert Randolph and the Family Band opened (with a short intro by Dave as the "greatest band in the world" after Dave "chatted" with the audience for about 20 seconds - being goofy and answering his own quesions like "How are you tonight?") and played to an audience of about 300 or 400 (not many people there when Robert played). RR tore it up on stage. Great stuff. They did a funky cover of the Doobie Brothers' "Jesus is just alright with me". This was my first time seeing RR live (and DMB live, for that matter!).
It seemed like an eternity waiting for the roadies and such to load out DMB's gear to the stage, but when the lights came down, it was truly an incredible feeling. The band opened with Pantala Naga Pampa>Rapunzel, which was fantastic. Really powerful. Then came Dreamgirl, which didn't drag on too long, which surprised me a bit because I was expecting a longer jam, but it was about the perfect length for the song (solos by Roi, and Rashawn). Proudest Monkey - Wow! Amazing, such a great mellow groove to it. I wasn't expecting PM to be played (but then again I hadn't looked at any past setlists, so I didn't really have an idea of what to expect). Satellite - great, Shotgun (hadn't heard the song before) - I was surprised, I really liked the tune (Dave said something like "For those of you who were wondering, and for those of you who weren't, disregard this: This is a small guitar.") Grey Street - super cool, YMDT - Great, jammed on it for a bit at the end, So Much To Say/ASTB/Too Much - really funky, getting the crowd moving. Break Free - I liked it, just not as much as Shotgun (what's with the cheesy lyrics, Dave? C'mon!). Crash Into Me - great, as always (+Dixie Chicken/Tennessee Lamb). Lie In Our Graves - AMAZING. Definately the highlight of the show for me. Boyd took a 2 minute solo and tore it up, and Butch took it down a bit, with a mellow piano solo. Can't Stop - eh, could've done without, but I can't complain with how great the set has been up to this point. HFTGL - could've done with out this one, too, but got people moving. Robert came out and did a FUNKY improv jam with the Band, then went into Louisiana Bayou, which they jammed to absolute pieces, featuring about 3 climaxes. The encores were great: Sister (Dave solo), Everyday (w/ crowd singing), then Ants, which they jammed the hell out of. Definately the best concert I have ever been to, and one of the best places to have a concert (Irvine Verizon Wireless Amitheatre). One hell of a show.

Cool... I guess. The problem is that I don't know the first thing to using/downloading torrents. I'm going to have to do some research. I saw the thread about torrents... Any other tips/advice?Nitro1515 wrote:there already a torrent out for ittaparoo wrote:I'm hoping somebody taped the show...Nitro1515 wrote:Glad you had a good time. I see a rule about not downloading a new show until two weeks after it has been available. How strict are they when it comes to following this rule? Would it be okay to download it now?HumbleMonkey wrote:http://www.dreamingtree.org/details.php?id=2137 there is the torrent for the show. dreamingtree.org is the site to look for torrents. you just need to download a torrent program such as bittorrent found here http://www.bittorrent.com/index.html then go to dreamingtree and download the torrent. easy as that

never heard of that rule, i dont think that is a rule, there is a "rule" that you shouldnt ask tapers to get the show until after 2 weeks, but these days the show is up the next day and you are welcome to download it right away, its better that way, spreads it around faster. go ahead and downloadtaparoo wrote:I see a rule about not downloading a new show until two weeks after it has been available. you can download the torrent no problem, just leave the torrent program open when it finishes so you can keep a good ratio and let others download from youtaparoo wrote:Now, I know I may seem a little persistant with these torrent questions, but there is a good chance I can dl the torrent even though I am completely new to the whole torrent thing and have no ratio?

Alright, cool. I'm downloading it right now. And thanks a lot for the help. I'm guessing it normally takes a while to dl a concert? It's been about 4-5 mins and I've only got 1 percent dl'd. My light is yellow.Nitro1515 wrote:you can download the torrent no problem, just leave the torrent program open when it finishes so you can keep a good ratio and let others download from youtaparoo wrote:Now, I know I may seem a little persistant with these torrent questions, but there is a good chance I can dl the torrent even though I am completely new to the whole torrent thing and have no ratio?

Yeah, it seems to be moving at a pretty steady pace. Time estimated is about 5h 20sec.Nitro1515 wrote:It will take a little while with a yellow light but as long as its moving at a steady pace then it shouldnt take more then a couple hourstaparoo wrote:Alright, cool.
