VERY important info for this Saturday (4/2/05)

Unread post by rekeen01 » Fri Apr 01, 2005 3:03 am

For all of those who are going to stand in line this Saturday for DMB tickets….I have a confession, AND most importantly, a little advice that you need to be aware of. Almost ALL Ticket Master administrators CHEAT!!!

I worked at Kroger back in my High School days (over ten years ago) in the video department and we also sold tickets. Here is what you need to look out for and if they do this….get a Manager.

First, we use to bring in friends and when we did the lottery to see who is first……..yup you guess it, it was magically our friends. Whatever number we pulled from the “hat” we would say our friends number out loud and put the number back quickly in the “hat” so no one could see what number we actually pulled (of course all the people had no idea we knew them) and they would be first. OR…………… we would just pull our tickets first at 10am and the first person in line would really get the second pull of tickets. We never did it for dave concerts because I wasn’t much of a fan back then but damn…….we got sooo many front row to 5th row tickets you would not believe!

I just wanted you guys to be aware of what goes on at ALL outlets……….and dont be shy to say something if you think something is going down. Good luck everyone on getting tickets!!!!! (as I burn in hell for what we did) haha

Do you think I should go to someplace like Hechts that has a ticketmaster place rather than try and get tickets from ticketmaster.com??

If you get first in line at a Ticketmaster place you will get better seats because you dont have to type the seat number and then the code word.........they just press A2 (meaning two seats) and thats it

Another note, tell the TM admin. when you get there at 9am or whenever to make sure a fresh bundle of blanks are loaded into the machine.

Our first onsale I remember was a mess!! Britany Spears when on sale and the second person in line got screwed because we forgot the load tickets.....the blanks were in the store safe which takes 7 minutes to open due to the security delay. Of course the concert sold out by the time we loaded the tickets in. That was a badddddd morning.

Have you ever had 100 pissed off 13 year old girls wanted to kick your ass???? hahah that sucked....some girls were in tears.

There is a public ticket limit??? Wouldn't they just keep selling until all the available space was gone?

The same thing happened when my wife bought Lynard Skynard tickets, she told the guy she wanted the best tickets they had and he sold us gen. admission. Then, her sister went in and got 5th row. I called the venue(to ask what seats were still open) and told them what happend and they gave my wife and i and two other tickets for 2nd row!
I fear the ticket buy process will never be a pleasent one :(
*edit* Unless you get 2nd row tickets for free

Thats actually pretty hilarious to imagine.
