Re: Official Latest Show Thread
Bartender-Awesome start to the show. I love when they kind of do nothing for a few minutes to build the suspense. I knew it was either going to be DDTW or Bartender
Everyday-not bad. I actually don't mind hearing this one.
Proudest Monkey-shoot me. this song is worthless live.
Satellite-same as proudest monkey, although Tim added some cool parts to this
Corn Bread-For the first 2 minutes of this I thought I was listening to Bayou. Then I realized it was actually cornbread and cheered up a little
You Might Die Trying-This is the best Stand Up song. I love it live. It was the best part of the show tonight. The little outro/jam thing at the end is awesome this year.
Out Of My Hands-I guess Butch forgot to take his piano with him.
Eh Hee-meh. little better than last year, seemed a little more grounded, but still needs to just be D&T.
Crash Into Me-classic, but I'm bored with it now. I think I've heard it at 6 out of my 7 shows.
Old Dirt Hill-nothing needs to be said.
Bitch-had no idea what this was. wasn't bad though.
Two Step-this had a really cool intro. dave was singing some cool lyrics (can't remember what they were though ha) and then they went into the song. It was pretty short too which was nice.
Stolen Away On 55th & 3rd-this is when I officially decided I hate this band.
The Idea Of You-same as last year. Still doesn't compare to the first time played though.
Dancing Nancies-pretty good, but again, I'm bored with it.
Crush-boring
Louisiana Bayou-awful, but I will say I don't mind the end jam because I <3 teh enrgy@#!!@!!!!1
and I left before the encore because I knew it would suck, so I have no input.
Encore:
Sister+
#40[Tease]
Gravedigger
Tripping Billies

You can't let the sets determine how good of a time you have. I suppose I used to be the same way, but after seeing them so many times I just go to have a good time, set lists be damned. Look at it as a big ass party where DMB happens to be playing and don't rely on the band to dictate your mood. If they play some good songs great. If not, go walk around, have a few beers, smoke some weed, meet some people and just let the music be background. It really isn't that hard, and it makes the evening that much more enjoyable.

Oh well I had a great time overall. I was with my girlfriend. We just hung out at the back of the lawn, listened to mediocre shitty music. I definitely enjoyed myself though. I still get the chills every time they start.littlefriend wrote:Why do you guys even bother going to shows anymore?

But out of the 7 shows I've been to I've never been that bored. But thats expected, they can't blow me away with rare songs every time. I'm just bitter because I know tonight will be the pretty good set, with songs like Dreaming Tree and the Stone.

I can't go to concert and not pay attention to every second of every song, if I wanted background music for getting drunk I'd go to a party for free, not spend 50 bucks plus gas.

Yeah, but not one where Dave Matthews Band is playing. Besides, it's not like you JUST spent the money. Chances are you bought those tickets months ago. That money is long gone.Easy E wrote:I can't go to concert and not pay attention to every second of every song, if I wanted background music for getting drunk I'd go to a party for free, not spend 50 bucks plus gas.
And you don't have to get drunk. Enjoy being outside. Enjoy hanging out with whomever you're there with. You can only control what you do, so you may as well make the best of it.

Yeah, yeah. Unless you picked the tickets up on a whim before the show chances are you got them at least weeks earlier.
Honestly though, if you're gonna spend the cash on the tickets and then NOT have a good time then that's your bag. I'll be over here enjoying myself, the concert and my friends.

You are not picking up on what I'm saying. I'm saying go to concert to listen to the music, not get drunk and hang out. it doesn't matter what band is playing. The 50 dollars is still 50 dollars no matter when i spend it

Re: Official Latest Show Thread
I see what your saying. But I'm saying that you can't (at least in DMB's case) depend on strong sets every night, and that if you find yourself not enjoying it, it's kind of your own fault. We know the quality of the sets they've been putting out the last 3 or so years, and it's now a risk taking venture. You can opt to not buy the tickets, or you can, with known risk. So I say since you've already spent the money enjoy it however you can. Even if that means not focusing 100% on the music.

best part about going to 2 shows in a row. you might get shit songs one night, but you aren't going to see those same shit songs the next. out of my hands, odh and stolen have already been exhausted.GSR wrote:Tonight could be very good.
