i dont know which is worst. granted in 05 they played 6-8 stand up songs a night, they still managed to bring back 34, plus they played other rarer songs like say goodbye, ynk, and lover lay down. also, they mixed up the sets more than this tour. this tour has good new songs, but the lack of variety kills it, especially when suad isnt played.taparoo wrote:I'd have to agree with you therebense27 wrote:2005 was worse IMOwhatshername wrote:FYPDMBassist52 wrote:seriously, this is the worst tour

Yeah, but most people go to one or maybe two shows a year, so the variety of sets isn't really a big issue when you go to a show, aside from what to expect. I'd say most of the sets this year have already been better than most of '05. I know I'd enjoy most of the sets played at shows this year.DMBassist52 wrote:i dont know which is worst. granted in 05 they played 6-8 stand up songs a night, they still managed to bring back 34, plus they played other rarer songs like say goodbye, ynk, and lover lay down. also, they mixed up the sets more than this tour. this tour has good new songs, but the lack of variety kills it, especially when suad isnt played.taparoo wrote:I'd have to agree with you therebense27 wrote:2005 was worse IMOwhatshername wrote:FYPDMBassist52 wrote:seriously, this is the worst tour
What a night. We can't ever remember experiencing a rain delay before a show, but it happened tonight. Dave came on stage at about 8:15 to announce to the audience that the storm we had been watching on radar was minutes away and not to be ignored. The system that hit the midwest today was known to produce tornados and serious lightning. Dave urged those on the lawn to take shelter either under the pavilion or in their cars until it blew over. He explained that the band didn't want anyone to miss a second of the show and that "we don't want to rip anyone off." The band delayed taking the stage until the worst of it had passed, about a half hour later. And they made up for it by playing through the local curfew. Our crew hero, Joe Lawlor, took the stage again with DMB during Stand Up, taking the tune to a whole new place. We're all geared up for Alpine, see y'all there on Saturday.

Its a tough call. I look back at the '05 shows I went to and I don't know how I made it through them there was so much SU stuff, but the lack of variety in these sets this year is really bad so far. And they haven't brought back anything good aside from SUAD. And I'm not even asking for anything crazy like Blue Water or #34 again, but where the hell is The Stone, Pig, Typical Situation, Proudest Monkey, Big Eyed Fish, etc...taparoo wrote:Yeah, but most people go to one or maybe two shows a year, so the variety of sets isn't really a big issue when you go to a show, aside from what to expect. The only thing in the defense of the 05 shows were the SU songs were new and we weren't totally sure if they would suck live. Now we know that most of them suck live, yet they still play them. It was excusable in 05 for them to play the songs.
I declined the ticket to Alpine. I would have had to drive like 90 minutes to my friends' house, then another 45 to Alpine, plus the last few sets have sucked horribly. It was for Saturday night, so I have low expectations.
Now that I'm not going, it will probably be awesome.

i know im late as hell but the Camden shows were really freaking good. Particularly the first night. The band played so well even songs that I don’t typically like, ‘you might die trying, ‘hunger’, ‘everyday’, I got really into. Then crush pushed me over the edge. It was so good I could barely take it. Best show ever.
The second night was really solid too and they played older tunes. Although I started to get dizzy because I was so hot. i think im too fat for the 100 degree heat.
thanks for reading i just had to say it. ps. nj has some kick ass weed
