You jealous bitches
Two Step to open was sweet, and doubly great because for once I didn't have to sit through an entire show hearing chants for it after every song!
Loving Wings was a GREAT surprise and I have always liked this song. I had my fingers crossed that WAYG wasn't right behind it.
STJL - a classic that still rocks and was one of many surprises tonight.
Crash - One of these types had to pop up and I am glad it was this instead of WAYG or Satellite. Everyone seemed to like this more than LW
#27 - Really cool and starting to reallllllly grow on me. I really dig the slower dirtier feel of this. Again, most people were bitching because they didn't recognize it, but who cares?
Cornbread - I absolutely had done a 180 on this song and dig it. This seemed to be one of the ones they all were smiling on throughout, which is a good sign.
The Maker - Nice little change of pace and always a great cover. The set was really cool with water effects and black and white video displays. Nice tune and in a good spot.
Sweet Up and Down - Actually was expecting this once I saw the 12-string and remembered what was played last night. I had a feeling that since they had done it night one they would do it night two as well for some reason. I am assuming now that this will be semi-regular this tour, which is fine by me. This song is amazing because of what it is and not its rarity value, if that makes sense. Carter Beauford is on the ball with this track. Actually, they all are. I also talked to my friend who is now married to a crew member and she told me that they soundchecked SUAD for an hour straight yesterday.
PLEASE be on the new album!
Shotgun - Saw the soprano and knew it since IOY was last night. GREAT track and hope it's on the new album. Some different lyrics than the older versions IIRC.
Lie In Our Graves - Cool. Great vibe, crisp playing, nice jams. It was LIOG how you know it.
ASTB - Really interesting because a few snare taps went off and on each of the three the band moved a bit and froze that pose on the tap. I was surprised this one started instead of being led into.
Too Much - Obvious since ASTB was first, but this freaking rocked! Maybe the best one I have heard in person. The little breakdown part where they slow up kicked so much ass because they went into half time. They played the little line, but half as fast and it was REEEAAAALLLLLLLLLY slow during it and everyone was moving on stage in slo-mo with it, awesome.
Jimi Thing - I sat down during this because the heat had really started to get to me and I thought I was going to puke all over. Standard Jimi, but the Buffalo Springfield outro needs to take a hike.
SMTS - Cool. Pretty standard and sounded good.
Warehouse - ?uestlove came out, NICE! Except I then began to realize that he contributed next to nothing since he nor Carter took a solo so...Great little latin jam again, and no Louie Louie for those wondering. This is one song where I really do like having Rashawn around though.
Ants - Typical closer, but you can't hate on Ants. It's just THAT song, so it could have been much worse. Powerful closer.
Gravedigger - Fine, I can dig it. I was really hoping for a SDL or SOL, but this was fine.
ABI - AWESOME! I can't believe how much he got into this one. I thought his veins were going to burst through his face. Tons of energy and just a great tune.
AATW - Quite honestly, I do enjoy watchtower, but after the set that preceded this I almost expected a Last Stop or even Halloween. I decided to leave after the good part of the intro to avoid traffic
All in all one of, if not THE best, show I have ever seen. Only that last encore slot would I really have changed. Great show and if it comes out on torrent, grab it. The only bad part is most Camden pulls I get are crappy quality. I am beat, good night!
