Meh, so-so set. I can live with it though. Tomorrow they'll probably bust out one or two kinda rare tunes like Last Stop. Or not. And then we can deal with the fact that Stefan LIED TO US!!!!!!

you guys can bitch and moan all you want. it was a sick set. i was there and i thought they played everything exceedingly well. jimi thing was amazing. 27 was aweome full band i thought. and cornbread sounded really good too to my surprise. ill admit there was some predictable stuff. but the jams seemed different and better. could be me though.

the one thing i will say is that sam kinniger was really good. much better improv than roi gives you. i really enjoyed hearing him. xavier rudd on the didgeridoo for still water->ddtw was pretty cool as well. other than that the set was too predictable. idea of you sounded good. #27 sounded good full band. i don't like the chorus of cornbread at all. overall i had a good time and they sounded good, dave's voice doesn't seem like it will be a concern this summer. we'll see what tonight brings.

my 2 cents...these boards have become super lame with all the bitching and moaning of sets and pretty much everything else about the band. it was the first show of a long tour, and it wasn't bad. if they played rare songs every night, they wouldn't be rare and exciting to see every once and while. they'd become as mundane as everyday or too much. also, if you are someone who posts on steffan's facebook or myspace, he is not your friend and by writing him to say you'd really like to see the last stop is sad. very, very sad.

i was bummed watching the setlist because in previous tour openers we got songs that havent been played in years. look at the 06 tour opener: raven (hasnt been played since 02) proudest monkey (hasnt been played since 03) and grace is gone (hasnt been played since 04) and jtr (second time played since 01). im sure if i were there i would have enjoyed myself, but i was expecting at least one song that hasnt been played so far this year.

yeah i agree a rare song would have been nice to hear. but the way dave played last night, i think itll be a good tour. its just a matter of time before he breaks out the rare ones. im going tonight too, im looking foward to the set. i have a good feeling itll be better than last nights.

since when did going to a concert always suck unless you heard every song you want to hear? if you like the band, you'll have a good time - quit bitching

It's always the same though in the sense that reading the set rarely looks great any more, but if you're there, no matter what was played, they probably played it well.

^^ exactly, thank you - might not be a rare song every time, but it's still fun when you're there

His voice was great wasn't it? He lowered the amount of screaming and it was sounding fantastico. the high pitched Jimi thing scat. haha. I thought we were going to get a Last Stop but the Two Step was equally great. With the screen shots and the strobe effect. crazy
P.S- Does butch use some type of talk box in his scat? i have heard a couple versions of him scatting and he gets wicked high up too.

I've never seen him use a talk box before. Just his voice, unless it's something he added this tour.
