here's what someone over at ants wrote:
And about the creepy dude, I was sitting 11th row, 2 seats off dead center, and saw the whole thing. Right at the end of ABI, Monk comes out with a new guitar, and suddenly you see this dude just kind of emerge out of no where in between Carter's kit and Stefan's stack. He wasn't running like many have said, just literally walked right toward Dave on stage with a fucking deranged look on his face. Dude was bald on top, long scraggly hair to his shoulders around his head, had a beard, a greenish trenchcoat, and what appeared to be jeans. Just as he was about to get past Fonzie's stack, Daryl came flying in, grabbed the guy by his coat, and threw him back as a couple other security guards came in to help, and they pulled him off the side of the stage. No clue where the dude came from, how he got in, or what his intentions were, but the dude looked fucking creeeeeeepy. My buddy in section 314 said he actually came through the curtain behind the stage, and right when he appeared Carter either swung or threw a stick at him, and then Daryl got to him.
from what i've gathered at ants, this happened during the segue from ABI > Last Stop, the guy got tackled, drug off stage, Monk went to bring out the Last Stop guitar, Dave waves him away and started playing Stay.

as soon as the guy emerged from behind the curtain carter motioned towards daryl that he was on stage. from my angle i could only see the guy in the trenchcoat standing between the kit and the stack, and daryl picked him up off his feet by his coat, then literally dragged by 2 or 3 guards off of the right side of the stage. i'm not suprised, the way the stage was set up there was merely a fence seperating off the backstage area behind the stage curtain, that was almost completely visable, and a few times before the show i noticed that nobody was guarding the fence. now that i'm home and see that last stop was skipped i wanna kill the guy. dave seemed kinda creeped out after that, and the band left the stage quick after stay. fucker.

why did the band insist on playing hunger and bayou both nights? they are done promoting stand up, so as far as im concerned they are just two other songs in the catalog. if its a new song, i understand, but they arent new songs and dont need to be played both nights. they arent playing one sweet world or even crash both nights, why play lb and hunger back to back?

Because as much as you or me or Nitro or anyone else can sit on here and talk about how shitty they are compared to any other song they play, the overall crowds at shows these days go fuckin' crazy for both of those songs.

ive heard a bunch of iem's and dave speaks and interviews where he talks about playing songs HE wants to play.. there was a grey street IEM floating around where he makes fun of a kid with a dreaming tree sign saying he'll play it when he wants and that kids not the "boss of this mothafucka!"

soo maybe the band just likes those songs.. and thats why they play them?

They do like those songs. Before he played it the second night here in Denver he said "We're playing this one again because we like it" then went into Hunger for the second night in row. I didnt really care, I like the song

that reminds when i saw blink-182 4 or 5 years ago. They played "Happy Holidays, You Bastards," then right after they finished it Mark was like, "You guys like that song? You wanna hear it again?" and they played it again.

The trenchcoat guy is weird. I was there when a couple kids rushed the stage in hartford last year, but this is way scarier. I can see why dave wanted to get out of there...

I'm actually a bit surprised they finished the show after that. I was surprised when I went to my first DMB concert about a month back (I know, I'm a bit of a newbie...), we got VIP parking and we didn't get patted down or anything by security. Maybe this is normal? I was just used to at least getting bags checked or passing through some kind of security before being aloud into a venue in past concerts I've attended. I mean, the guy could have easily brought a gun in and, bam!, just like that. Happened to Dimebag Darrel of Pantera two years ago. I'm just happy nothing like that happened last night.
