Great setlist last night, horrible crowd. Maybe I'm getting old, maybe I'm not a dumb 18 year old kid, maybe I just don't get it. We had Preferred Lawn through Warehouse which was a fenced off area at the front of the lawn. We get down there as UM gets done and there's plenty of room and they are checking tickets. Next thing I know, the Alpine employees take down the fence and all these kids bullrush the space. Ridiculous.
Last night I basically saw a complete lack of respect for anyone and anything. If someone has their blanket down, it's their space for the night. That's couresty and the unwritten rules of the lawn. I had too many knees in my back last night and my gf got her hand stepped on a few times cause these drunk kids have no idea about anything.
Some kid is stumbling down the lawn, bumps into me and then gets in my face about it. Come on.
I'm all for having a few beers and having a good time, but if you can't carry yourself, don't drink that much. Not hard.
Having said that, and after last night's great set, I'd be hard pressed to go to a DMB show again.

After a similar experience at SPAC this year I decided I'm not going to another show unless I get inside seats, the lawn is out of control these days.mdel21 wrote:Great setlist last night, horrible crowd. you hit the nail on the head del - i refuse to sit/stand at a dmb concert if i only have lawn seats - last year these stupid drunk high school kids got in a pretty serious fistfight which ended with one guy actually punching a girl - it was just way outta hand, too far away to enjoy it as much, and way too many stupid people
yeah samethign with me. i got seats for the west palm show. i refuse to go to the lawn again. its just drunk 17-19 year olds getting as hammered as they could and falling down.Nitro1515 wrote:After a similar experience at SPAC this year I decided I'm not going to another show unless I get inside seats, the lawn is out of control these days.mdel21 wrote:Great setlist last night, horrible crowd. i hear ya. it sucks, you cant enjoy a song without some drunk kid looking for his friends in the dark, talking on his phone, drunk not paying attention and bumping into youNitro1515 wrote:CoSta wrote:yeah samethign with me. i got seats for the west palm show. i refuse to go to the lawn again. its just drunk 17-19 year olds getting as hammered as they could and falling down.Nitro1515 wrote:After a similar experience at SPAC this year I decided I'm not going to another show unless I get inside seats, the lawn is out of control these days.mdel21 wrote:Great setlist last night, horrible crowd. I agree. SPAC seemed even more crowded than ever this year. I found the key is to get under the walkways so there isn't a stream of people trying to pass. As for the blanket marking off the spot...it seems like there are way too many people in a crowded dark area for that to work. The lawn is kind of a free for all.

I won't even go to a show if I can only get lawn tickets. It's just not worth it to me, because it ruins the experience. I'm there to see the music, not to deal with the bullshit. You want a social scene, sit in the lawn, you want to enjoy the music, get in the pavillion. The worst though, is drunks in the pavillion, but they are easier to take care of. I told some lady to go get drunk somewhere else or go back to the lawn where she belongs with the rest of the riff raff. SHe spilled her beer on my shoes so naturally I was pissed, this was tenth row at mansfield. I just had security deal with her, it's so easy.
The bitch.
The bitch.
