30 times? Holy shit...

I have seen them about 10 times and I think one or two more years and I'll probably stop doing it... I've pretty much heard every song I've ever wanted to hear live after that unbelievable show last night, and especially at the Post Gazette Pavillion the crowd in the lawn just gets worse and worse each year. Just becoming more high school kids and people that don't know a song outside of Crash and Everyday. Don't really want to pay for better seats, since I have also already saw them up close as well.

A kid I know was there on Saturday night and his FB status the following day was "Ants Marching, Crush, and Two Step in the same show... unbelievable". I wanted to puke. Not to be a l33t Dave fan, but you just saw a show with #40, Dreaming Tree, The Stone, STJL, and Halloween. Don't call yourself a fan if you're the jackass yelling "PLAY CRASH!" and going to get a beer when the truly amazing non-radio hits are played.

i can't stand people like that, and i went to a ton of shows with a big group of friends almost exclusively with those people - usual conversation (typical situation starts mid jam a couple years ago):

me: oh cool, TS at the jam
him: no dude, this is totally a new song
me: i guarantee you this is TS
him: whatever dude
...chorus kicks in
him: whoa!
me: :stare:

A kid in the crew we went with was similar. We were grilling out next door and drinking prior to leaving for the concert, American Baby comes on and he's like "I'm gonna be so pissed if they don't play this tonight!" I just laughed and asked if he was dying to here Crash and Satellite too.

I get surrounded by these fools at every single show I attend. I've seen either 18 or 19 now and will probably stop going very soon because of these retards. These little 17-year-old girls that show up on the lawn as the band walks in and shove their way to the front and then scream for WAYG and Crash just make me want to combust.

That said, the ONE song that I still need to hear live is Last Stop. I've seen absolutely everything else I've wanted to see.

I've never seen Recently, Kit Kat Jam or Let You Down, though I don't think too many people here have seen LYD. It just passed the 12 year mark since it was last played.

Ones I want to see that have been played live include Halloween, LYD, and Last Stop. I've been lucky enough to catch some good ones, nothing too rare, but solid shows here and there.

I've caught some amazing shows and seen some pretty rare songs. Last Stop is just the only one that I can't seem to catch.

I, too, have gotten some rarities/gems.

Spoon, #34, #40, Minarets, couple of PFWYGs, couple of Last Stops, 3 varieties of Stay or Leave (one each Dave & Tim, Dave & Friends and the first ever DMB performance), the only performance of Super Freak, Linus & Lucy, Halloween » Butterfly at Red Rocks, and we got a weird, slow, lounge-y Halloween one year at All State Arena. And I've been at shows where a song returns after a lengthy break a number of times. I've been pretty lucky, I guess.

I saw #34 in '05, but I didn't get JTR when they brought it back. Grrrr.
