I'm kinda bummed because i think a large part of the setlist is going to be stand up stuff, and i think they may repeat quite a few of them at the hartford shows. Not that i'll mind hearing brand new songs twice, but it means there's less space/ less opportunities to hear rare oldies.

yeah...and i hate standup. aside from Hello Again, id prefer them not play these songs. they stopped playing the bad songs from everyday (for the most part) maybe theyll learn again

it'd be the exact opposite if you ask me. the way a lot of the songs are written, stand up would be replacing more of BTCS than anything else.
but that's just my opinion.

Damn, right now i am listening to the '04 show at Alpine Valley.
Opening with Hello Again... ...just wow, what a hell of a song to open with. This might be one of the better sets (performance wize as well) i've ever seen. I think this years tour will be great.

But why'd you guys say Pig is out this year???
I dont know, they have been playing it alot the past 3 years, it seems like they should be putting it away for a year. I hope Im wrong though, i havent seen it yet and would love to.

They haven't been playing it alot, as compared to the songs that they overplay. In relation to how good of a song it is, it's been relatively underplayed.

While i know there are some threads about songs people are hoping to hear this summer, this list is of songs that will more likely than not appear this summer. While these are more or less estimations, they are somewhat solidified through information from dmbalmanac.

Here we go...

With the release of Stand Up, we can expect alot of material from this album to appear on tour. So far they have performed about half of the songs off of the album live. These songs include:
"dreamgirl"
"stand up"
"american baby"
"hello again"
"louisiana bayou"
"you might die trying"
"steady as we go"
"hunger for the great light"
These songs are most likely gonna be in heavy circulation this year, and i assume "old dirt hill" and "everybody wake up" will be played frequently as well.

Now for those of you who hate the new album (alot of you do), dont worry. Seeing trends in the previous tours, I predict these songs will be played a decent number of times this summer.

"Lover Lay Down" - While this song was only played 3 times during the 03 tour, and 5 times during the 04 tour, the band played it at 3 out of 6 shows in Australia this spring. If they played it in spring, why not summer?

"You Never Know" - This song was played extensively in 02, 9 times in 03, and 0 times in 04. There are going to need some songs this length for this tour (because drive in drive out and pig will probably not be out this year), and YKN is prime for the role. I personally feel this is one of DMBs best songs, with great lyricism and instrumentation, and hope this year.

"Minarets" - What DMB tour would be complete without some darker songs? They played it 8 times in 03 (i saw it 6.27.03, fucking awesome) but was absent in 04. With all the new songs, they probably want to give the older fans some lovin. So that is why Minarets would be prime for 05.

"Say Goodbye" - OK, this is a longshot. But after listening to the Meadows, it almost seems like it belongs on tour. It was absent in 04, but played 3 times in 02 and 03, and 4 times in 01. It took them 4 years to bring back Last Stop, so im not shunning Say Goodbye.

Alright, I'm tired of typing, but those are my predictions/hopes for this tour. Those + "kit kat jam" and "what you are."

Peace.
Damn, looking back I was pretty on with my predictions. Besides the given Stand Up material, I called Lover Lay Down, You Never Know, Say Goodbye, and What You Are. Kit Kat Jam and Minarets weren't played, but DIDO and Pig were both rarely seen this tour, so I'll give myself a 5/7.
