The Official Latest Show Thread.
Re: The Official Latest Show Thread.
Here's my review of both nights of Alpine.
Saturday night:
Didn't really care for the first 5 songs (Funny, YMDT, Spaceman -->Cornbread and Seven)
Nancies was good. Shake Me was fun.
Lying in the Hands, Crush and The Stone all in a row was awesome.
I could not believe they gave us both Smooth Rider and Bayou.
Ants to close was perfect. Overall I wasn't totally happy with it, but I knew that Sunday night was going to be great.
I hung out on the deck and met two people from MN that were nice. We met back up on Sunday night. I stayed in Lake Geneva and it took 2.5 hours to get out of the lot. It was terrible.
Sunday night:
I was on my golf trip with 23 guys at Alpine. We were on the 12th hole at 3:30ish and I can see the buses and an arm hanging out the window with a cig and it's Dave. So I went up by the fence and waved to him. It was cool. Then on the 14th hole, soundcheck started. It was YNK, Squirm, part of Alligator Pie and Solsbury Hill. It was awesome. I'm playing golf with DMB playing live in the background.
The show:
PM --> Satellite was a nice start
Squirm was pretty good
Pig - I had a feeling I'd get this up there and it was so sweet
You Never Know - I wasn't surprised, but Carter did a little solo leading in and I thought/hoped it would be Say Goodbye
Crash and Dreaming Tree were both great
This is when the real fun started
#41 - Coffin and Carter went ape shit like the Beacon Theatre show
Rhyme and Reason and Dive In were solid
Jimi - I thought for certain this would close the set. I was wrong.
Time Bomb - I really liked this one, but I knew it wouldn't close, so we got Two Step. Amazing.
The encore was sweet. I hadn't seen Halloween since 2000 and I'm so glad they played it.
21 songs, just short of 3.5 hours. It more than made up for Saturday night. Plus I only had an 8-minute walk back to the hotel.

wasn't really impressed at all by the band last night, couple good songs though - why i am was a lot of fun to see, squirm opener was ok, and i knew i wasn't hearing things cause dave played the first little part of the riff from shotgun, that woulda been amazing - otherwise, jimi thing and 41 were good because of carter and jeff, but that's about it, not that great a show
and hershey...yeah worst venue i've ever been to - had to park really far away, walk over a bridge, take a tram car, then maneuver your way into the stands which took absolutely forever - plus it took us at least and hour and fifteen minutes to get out of the damn place, horrible horrible venue, i wouldn't go there for free next year
funny davespeak bout hershey though: Tastes like chocolate, smells like cow shit!
