Is Why Oh Why a song of theirs? I couldn't find it on any of their albums. I loved Why Oh Why/Crush.

new song was really slow, better than falling off the roof... as bad as dreamgirl tho. stefan's solo b4 watchtower was amazing. he did schism by tool then he did his own thing after. shotgun and suad were amazing. glad they had those in this weekend. dt opener was shocking. damn good weekend at alpine

Some highlights, won't give a full review mostly because I can't remember some stuff/the songs I left out were standard as you know them

Dreaming Tree- me and my buddy listened to them soundcheck this and I thought I was going to have to walk away pissed they didnt play it but man, it was just perfect. Perfectly played, perfectly sung, the jam at the end was great, overall a very nice way to start the show

PNP> Rapunzel- totally unexpected in the spot they played it, funky as ever

Hunger-

I took a piss

Cornbread- have to mention it, it was fantastic tonight, didn't even really notice the shit for lyrics. That riff is damn cool

Everyday > Ants Marching- awesome to see Ants midset, very unexpected once again. Pretty standard, but still nice

A Dream So Real- yuck. Really weird, lacked a groove, *sigh*

SUAD- I wish he still sung the LWS lyrics, and they played it in the same way. It really has lost something, and although it was still very cool to hear, I didn't really like it as much as the '00 version

The whole encore- sort of disapointing to be honest, after such a strong set, but they rocked the shit out of ABI and Watchtower so no big deal I guess

Overall, one of the best shows I've seen and I had a great time. Night tabbers

So, just got back from the weekend. These shows fucking rocked. Solid sets both nights and the new songs are pretty sweet live. Having all those dudes from the Roots guesting was fucking awesome. They played like 5 or 6 songs with a 5-piece horn section both nights and one of the guys did this freestyle rap over Eh Hee tonight. It wasn't great, but it was unique and totally unexpected which I support. Very cool.

Dreaming Tree opener was a wonderful surprise. Both nights were extremely light on the Stand Up and we got a Loving Wings NOT followed by WAYG last night which made me happy. I knew I wasn't going to avoid it tonight, so I was glad that while I was pissing during Hunger they played it right after, so I took my time and missed it. Yay. SUAD was great, of course. #41 is always gold and the electric adds a nice touch. I don't really get the hate for the new song tonight. It's a ballad but it sounded good from where we were, so...

Very few disappointments really. ABI>Watchtower was pretty predictable, but Stefan's little Schism tease /interpolation was bad ass. Got another WTWE and and encore Dreamgirl (puke) last night, and Hunger and WAYG tonight, and there are a few songs I wanted and didn't get, but other than that I have no real complaints. Just very solid shows, I thought.

Yesterday getting into the venue was a god damn nightmare. We sat in pretty much stand still traffic outside for almost 3 hours. Parts of the lot were just giant mud bogs so they had to improv the parking set up, which is why the show started so late. DMB didn't even go on until almost 9. Tonight was the exact opposite. We drove straight into the venue with no stops. The lawn was an utter disaster. All the rain combined with a Rage Against The Machine show Friday made it one giant muddy slip and slide. Luckily we had seats. But the mud was everywhere. Every step was an adventure, especially with an $8 beer in each hand. Even the cement had a layer of mud on it so it was still treacherous.

So yeah, sorry, kind of a long post, but I had a fucking awesome time this weekend. I haven't really enjoyed myself so thoroughly both nights at a DMB show in a while. It was a nice change. Now I'm off to shower. I have no idea how I got muddy grass in my hair. I was one of about 6 people in the whole lawn that didn't fall. And I'm still filthy. Good night, tabs.

Interesting set. Very inconsistent on the awesomeness though.

Holy shit, a DT opener? That's so sick. I would have trouble believing it if I was there.

I wonder since it's a 3 night stand at the Gorge if we'll finally get some good diversity on the sets.
