Yeah, that was really weird, kept telling me that "you cannot post so soon after your last post; please try again in a short while" or something like that. And I would look at all the topics or mark them read and then come back and they all be marked new again. I was getting real pissed for a while till I realized it wasnt my computer but the site. Some bugs from the site update still need ironed out or something? Anyways, nice to see everythings working fine now.

OK...first off, sorry about not being around for a while. I've needed some time off. Now, as for the problems at hand. I do not know exactly what is wrong but the nature of both problems leads me to believe this is an issue with the server time. Here is my justificiation.
Also, Nothing I am stating here is 100% fact. I am going on a hunch that a normal programmer would implement. I believe I am correct though.
The new post issue has to do with when you viewed your last post and the current time. I am not really that sure how it works, but there is somethign to do with a flag set in your profile that tells the boards which posts to mark new. It seems that if the server time is off.....all posts will be marked new no matter what.
I say this about the new posts becuase the problem with the posting thing DEF has to do with time. Ya see, phpBB sets a flag whenever you make a post saying that you posted at time X. Now, when you try to post again, it takes time (X + # of seconds allowed in between posts)...60 I believe...and checks to see if the current time is >= to that time. The server time was probably off by a day, month, or even year! REgardless, the time phpBB was seeing was less than the time+secondsAllowed and it was thikning you couldn't post.
Anyway, that's what I think the problem was. Also, as for the server time in the other post. I'll get on the ISP about that. Thanks.....peace all
