Would anyone be opposed to me buying this site and updating it? Of course, I'd want to keep everyone in the community active and excited, so if the site was to lose that, I would never do it, I enjoy it too much. I know my profile says I just joined but I had to create a new one (old one bb2). I want to get the "blessing of the community" before going forward. I see a lot of potential to better the site (primarily just keeping it updated).

Thanks for the response. I guess by "updating," I mean more than simply adding new videos or giving the site a new look, both of which (especially the former) would be done to some extent. First of all, we do need to add new songs to the formal (accessible from home page) library including new cds and other live/ unreleased songs. The site could use a new look although that is trivial. The point is, with some money behind the site, we could grow this thing and really have a more comprehensive site. Don't get me wrong, the site has been managed great up to a point, but we really need someone who can put some time into this and build it out in addition to the ongoing forum discussions.

I dont trust this guy. He is like the villain in every poorly scripted movie I have ever seen. He comes in and acts like he is a "cool guy", "one of us". It stays like that for a month or two, then he changes something subtle. Speen gets in his head and says, "Hey, you know what this place needs? I'll tell you, Umphrey's McGee tabs." So after pursuing this relentlessly for a few weeks, bdbuchanan gives in, lets down his guard and now its no longer just DMBtabs. The site starts seeing a little more traffic and a little dirtier, smellier clientele.

So bdbuchanan like any other young gun hot shot in the internet realm thinks to himself, "hey if I can add some marginally talented band, that some young buck from Cleveland is willing to trade sexual favors for, just to get his band on here and it brings in more traffic, imagine what other bigger more popular bands could do."

So again to go under the radar, he adds other bands slowly. Hey guys Maroon 5 is pretty awesome right? I am just going to add a few tabs and a few videos, you know just to try it out, see what happens. So then we get the Maroon 5 crowd coming in sullying up the place. Then it's Coldplay tabs, then it's Gavin Degraw tabs, then its Kenny Chesney tabs and before you know it, it gets so bad that he starts putting up tabs for the Jonas Brothers. No longer is the Dave Matthews Band even on the preverbial radar. The guy has tons of sponsors, big companies making him tons and tons of money, and we are left with nothing.

Dino, after being relieved of his duties of being moderator, loses his self esteem, and he is in the streets; drinking, drugging, whoring; basically following in Hof's footsteps.

Brock decides he hates computers, and moves to Argentina to work on banana farms with Fede and his monkey and they share a hut in Fede's village.

Donnyboo has no reason to post here anymore, so he decides to pick up a book about grammar. After reading about articles, nouns, verbs, adjectives etc..., he moves on to the more complicated stuff, predicates, subjects, etc... and starts to compose close to complete, semi-intelligible thoughts with minimal typos. Enough so, that he creates a blog, where he has a bullhorn to spread his idiocy to the masses. Before we know it, it catches on and he gains a following. His blog gets 500,000 views a day. Quickly, before we know it there are nothing but Donnyboo-ites (?) and they are everywhere. Not only do you have to deal with this repugnant jerk on what used to be dmbtabs, you start running into them in real life, you have to work with them, they are the ones who answer the phone when you call customer service, hell they are the ones that are going to be teaching your kids and driving their school buses. Not on my watch.

But I have news for you bdbuchanan, you made one of the classic mistakes when it comes to taking over an internet tab site. You underestimated what old dmbtabs has up it's sleeve. Anton returns from his sabbatical (wherever the hell he is) and finds out about what is going down. Anton loathes capitalism. So he goes into psycho-pinko mode. The voices he has always had in his head, become louder and more convincing. So this left-wing nut job decides to become a mercenary for justice. He starts following you, stalking you, he learns your patterns, you become the hunted. So just when this place reaches it's pinnacle and you've never had more money, he strikes. First you start finding dead birds on your porch. The occasional slashed tire. Bricks thrown through your window, then the ultimate blow; the server used to set the stage for this whole vicious cycle is set ablaze within your house. Slowly the whole place becomes a complete inferno, you barely make it out and just as relief sets in, you look up and try to make out the figure standing in front of you. As your blurred vision begins to clear you start making out minute details, a beret, a neckbeard, malnourishment. You begin to realize that this guy looks like what would have been created if Che Guevera had a terrible crystal meth addiction and impregnated some Taiwanese whore, who drank and smoked throughout the entire pregnancy. It's Anton. He mutters something unintelligible in spanish then slices your throat.

All for what? Because you think you can make a quick buck off of this place.

So to answer question. Yes, I would be opposed.
