Halloween Bridge ("Why do we run around here...")

Nobody's perfect, not even the staff here. Have a suggestion, tab correction, or question? Let's hear it!

Halloween Bridge ("Why do we run around here...")

Unread post by billywestom » Mon May 19, 2003 1:42 am

I just downloaded a version of Halloween from MTV's Live at the Ten spot, and to me it doesn't look like he is hitting an Am chord during this part of the song, it looks more like this (I'm too stupid to know the actual name, A5 or Asus2 or something)

Anyway, I definitely can't see his first finger fretting anything. Any thoughts? I do know that Am sounds right, but that's not what I see.
I can't believe that we would lie in our graves wondering if we had spent our living days well, and I can't believe that we would lie in our graves dreaming of things that we might have been...

Hmmm....well, I wasn't sure what to say when I originally saw this thread. I had always been convinced that it was an Am chord. On Live at the 10 Spot he CLEARLY isn't using a full Am chord. BUT, I have a video from Gorge 2002(9/7/02) and he CLEARLY plays a full Am chord. I guess it just depends on what mood you catch him in. If you got a suggestion of how to represent that in the tab then I am all ears........I could put it as 0-2-2-(1)-0 but that doesn't show that it could be played open. Not sure....suggestions?

If you have an idea of what he plays more often then I would say just stick with that. If you're not sure, then you can put it like you said there, and say "you can play the note in parenthesis as an open B string" but I know you dont like to be too wordy
