Hometown forums...
I know I'm a new poster here. Hopefully I can add to the mix. I was wondering if anyone would be interested in a Hometown forum. Basically a discussion forum for every state, or province of the members here. It would be a place for people to talk about events going on in their areas and possible meet for jam sessions. Ya never know. There could be another dmbtabs.com user living next door and you don't even know it.
This would probably add quite a bit more work for the mods though.
Of course meeting people from the internet is kind of wierd.. but hey.. shrug.
Just an idea,
Brent

He knows. We like to make fun of Canadians. WRT to the suggestion, I actually kind of like this. We won't be able to implement it until the next version of phpBB comes out, but that's something I'll bring up in development.Brent wrote:Like the ones that are in Canada...mdel21 wrote:what are these "provinces" you speak of?

there are 3900 total users and growing, only a tiny majority of them actually post, and an even smaller amount post regularly. i like the idea personally maybe some of the people who read through the boards would become more involved in local discussionsfilmdude100cms wrote:but how many of us live in the same areas? the guys from TX and new york are mostly friends already anyway. the rest of us arent near each other. i dont know

I really see a lot of the regional forums being boring... if not many people are posting they will die quickly... plus, I'd rather be interacting with the whole DMB community because say someone in NY tells someone else in NY something that I would like to know also, I would have to go to that forum and read it unless I searched for it... it might not be something i was thinking of to search for so I'd never get to read it... it seems like it would add a whole huge complex aspect to this system... so I have one vote for: No
