Missing chord in Captain...
Missing chord in Captain...
Hello everyone... This is Stand... I looked over the tab for Captain that is currently posted and I think, after listening to the album and an acoustic performance, that there is a chord missing from the "Roll me Back again" section. It's very faint and easy to miss in those recordings but I can hear it. I think that it would look like so:
e----------------------------
b-------------------2--------
g----8---4---3-----2----1--
d----x---x---x-----2----2--
a----6---2---1----------2--
E----------------------------
Excuse the poorness of this depiction...
Let me know what you think. Reply me with Q's. Later...

kanter has hours upon hours upon hours of video, some dating back to the band's inception... don't ask me where he got 'em tho

Everybody always asks me how she's doing. Has she really lost her mind? I said "I couldn't tell you, I've lost mine."

I do see your point kickstand, but its in the way you play it, in theory it should be like this
Code: Select all
e----------------------------
b-------------------2--------
g----4---4---3-----2----1--
d----x---x---x-----2----2--
a----2---2---1----------2--
E----------------------------
essentially that's exactly what I have up. I don't write double chords that way. Anyway, I am working on problems for that...peace

I think I am just playing it a little faster than Dave plays it now...that might be why. In all honesty, when going for rhythm....I always sugest listening to Dave...regardless of how amazing anyone is...Dave plays it best...good luck man...peaceGeneD5 wrote:on your video you dont hold the 2x4 down for long..not criticizing, just trying to figure this shit out so i can play it for my GF on her BDay in 15 daysjkanter wrote:essentially that's exactly what I have up. maybe this can help you guys out...
honestly i think that section of tab is set up kinda in the wrong order, because from the main riff you should go straight into the A chord, not into the B...so it is sort of misleading...
maybe that is one of the problems? i dont know, just see if this helps (scroll to the bottom to see my post)

I can't believe that we would lie in our graves wondering if we had spent our living days well, and I can't believe that we would lie in our graves dreaming of things that we might have been...
What about this part????billywestom wrote:maybe this can help you guys out...

right...i see what you have there, and it is right. but i think it is unecessary...if you just had the main verse riff...and then had another section called "roll me back again" or whatever with those 4 chords, i believe it might make more sense...just my opinion, maybe would cause less confusionjkanter wrote:What about this part????billywestom wrote:maybe this can help you guys out...

oh i forgot....and then you could say something like "to finish off section, stop at the E chord and go into main riff" or something...just a suggestionbillywestom wrote:right...i see what you have there, and it is right. but i think it is unecessary...if you just had the main verse riff...and then had another section called "roll me back again" or whatever with those 4 chords, i believe it might make more sense...just my opinion, maybe would cause less confusionjkanter wrote:What about this part????billywestom wrote:maybe this can help you guys out...

a-->e minor. Its just a bit confusing. Than you so much though kanter for this site, its fantastic! And thanks for the help billy
I get what your saying but I thought it was easier to actually give the transition from verse -> roll me back again instead of just having it SAY that. Maybe I should re-word it to say "Verse -> 'Roll Me Back...' Transition" ????
