Recording Forum
Ok, I have an idea. I think that there should be a sub-forum to the recording forum. Something like, "Beginner recording/critiquing." This should be specifically for people working on dmb songs.
Now, this isnt meant to offend or defer anyone currently posting in the current recording forum from doing so, but in the past couple months I've been seeing pretty much the same people posting. They are all pretty good too, and I think this probably defers some beginners from posting their songs up for critiquing. Putting up a billies verse that youre just learning next to one of the more practiced guitarist's covers/originals would be pretty intimidating. I've only posted a couple songs myself...but I think one of the biggest helps I had when I was initially developing was to have someone else who knew what to listen for listen to my covers and tell me what to fix. I think a separate beginner's forum would facilitate beginner posting, and help more people. What do the mods and everyone else think about this?
Clarification Edit: Just add one more forum, for people who are learning DMB songs, and need help. All other recordings (dmb covers that dont need much work, other covers, and originals) go in the current recording/critiquing forum.

How is it not practical? I just think that there should be a forum for helping people with what the site is centered around - learning dmb songs. In theory, telling people to "dont be intimidated, just post your stuff up" is a good idea, but well, how practical is that? How many newbies/beginners have you seen post in the recording forum lately? Just look at all the posts in the last month - theyre all from the same people, and for the most part theyre some pretty good originals with a couple REALLY good dmb covers. I remember when I first started posting a long time ago, people who were learning would ALWAYS post stuff up. I havent seen one of those posts in a long, long time.firedancer86 wrote:good idea in theory, but not practiacl at all...

I agree with the idea, but I thought it was impractical to have
Dave Guitar
General Guitar
Recording Critiquing
Begginer Rec. Critiquing
Originals Critiquing
Learning DMB Songs Rec. and Critiquing
etc...
php wont allow sub-forums...people just need to post...if they are afraid, then they need to read how welcoming/encouraging we are to each other...
