Cello Intro to The Stone

Is the Cello intro to The Stone in 6/8 time like the rest of the song? I have the Before These Crowded Streets Guitar Tablature book here and it says the song is in 6/8 time. But to get the cello into 6/8 time I am having to use a ton of funky notes -- 32nd notes, 16th notes, etc. You get the idea. It sounds GREAT but it might be a bit hard to read for the novice cello player.

im pretty sure its in 4/4, you could do it either way, but its would be MUCH simpler in 4/4

For now, I am doing it in 6/8 -- and it looks really funky, but sounds dead on. I'll change to 4/4 later. I'll have it done in a good 15 minutes.

nah, you dont have to change it, the are both in a regularly spaced meter, so the measures match up everyso often

That me and the roommate have worked on -- Crash, Too High, (can play along with) Seek Up, An Another Thing, Baby, (working on) Gravedigger, (can play along with) So Damn Lucky, Stay or Leave, (parts of) #41, (can play the vocal part to) The Maker.

I never really take the time, or have the time, to sit down and learn one song completely. I am working on The Stone right now, but the rest I can just sort of play along with, know a general idea of what to play next... basically, garage jam to.

The cool thing about Dave's solo album is that it has a lot of cello in it -- makes it fun to learn -- and it's all really easy cello parts.

Next I am going to "tab out" (put into bass clef) the end cello part to Too High off his solo album. It's so fun to play -- you just get to rip away at the cello and it sounds amazing. Really really easy, too.

Also, for the most part, Dave's voice fits right in the range of the cello, really easy to play without having to play in odd positions (really high up on the strings, like at the high frets of a guitar), so copying him is easy. And sounds pretty cool, too.
