Microphones... Which do you use?
Microphones... Which do you use?
I'm looking for a fairly decent microphone. Just wondered what microphones you guys use for singing? Or ones you would recommend?

1. I've been (slowly) working on a recording microphone tutorial to post. It might get there someday.
2. There is no way to simply recommend a microphone.
The easiest way is to first ask your price range, so what are you looking to spend?
Next, what is the rest of your gear/how are you planning to record? Many microphones require certain other pieces behind them to work.
Those are the easiest questions to start with, so whatcha got? We'll go from there.

Re: Microphones... Which do you use?
going along with xenon's post, I know absolutely nothing about microphones/recording and I was thinking of getting a mic to fool around at home and record with my computer. I've been looking through the major music websites and have seen some mic's that plug directly into a USB and others that require "other" parts, as was mentioned above. I don't want to spend very much money, but would like a somewhat decent sound. What do you guys suggest that would be easiest to set up without breaking my very limited bank?

Samson C01U is an easy to use USB mic that sounds great.I don't want to have to use a mixing board so this is the perfect solution for me.
