violin help

Topics about musical instruments other than guitar should go here. There's bound to be a Carter, LeRoi, or Yo-Yo Ma out there.

I am considering buying a violin, but I don't know anything about them. If anyone plays violin or has any knowledge of what I should buy as a beginner, I would appreciate it.

This is totally what the man asked for.

And honestly, as a beginner, I would borrow a violin from a music store or a music teacher. Taking up violin is quite the ambitious task and if you decide that you'd rather not take it up, just return it instead of having to sell it or whatever.
